A former board member of our nonprofit organization, who is no longer affiliated with us, is causing disruption by falsely presenting himself as a current member and leader. He has taken over control of our Meetup groups, removing all current board members. These groups are crucial for communicating with members about our events and projects. While he initiated the Meetup groups, our organization now covers the expenses. Despite his disassociation, he continues to use our charity's name without permission. It is imperative that he ceases using our name on these platforms.

I created a Meetup group called Scrum Masters SG Chapter on my Meetup app but can't add new members because I need to change my plan. How can I upgrade my plan to approve new members? Also, when I tried accessing my account on my laptop with the email [redacted], it only displays my Meetup membership in Manila, and I can't see my account here in Singapore. MY ISSUE: HOW DO I UPGRADE MY PLAN TO APPROVE NEW MEMBERS IN MY MEETUP GROUP SCRUM MASTERS SG CHAPTER!

Hi there, I am reaching out regarding the issue you mentioned about your Meetup payment. I have been trying to contact you at [redacted] without success. Could you please advise on another method of contact to speak with a representative? Thank you. - Anastasia

Dear Meetup Groups, I recently joined Meetup as a new member under [redacted] on August 29th. I have since joined approximately 12 groups including Social 50, art, and writing. I had a great time at my first group meeting last week and was looking to sign up for another event this weekend. However, when I tried to log into my account, it stated that it doesn't exist. I attempted to resolve the issue by changing my password as instructed in a message, but I still encountered the same problem. I even reached out to the event organizer for assistance, but it seems difficult to get any help with this issue. I am familiar with navigating through technical challenges, but I would appreciate some guidance on how to resolve this particular problem. I want to clarify that I have not received any warnings or violated any rules. Thank you, Leonard D. DeMaio

I recently sent out an email to inform attendees of our outdoor event tomorrow about the possibility of heavy rain. Unfortunately, several group members have reported not receiving the email, even though I received a confirmation myself. I understand the need to regulate emails for a better user experience, but it would be helpful to have a log indicating when emails were sent to avoid any confusion or perception of being a neglectful host. Currently, I am faced with the dilemma of either risking that people arrive unprepared for the weather or manually contacting over 40 individuals, which is time-consuming and could negatively impact their Meetup experience. As an organizer, it is essential for me to have confidence that my messages are reaching the group for effective planning. This situation has made me question the effectiveness of using Meetup for communication purposes, as I strive to ensure a smooth experience for all participants.

I am experiencing issues with Meetup. I have been trying for hours to correct my last name being displayed with my first name on the meetup I created (The-Real-Knitty-Gritty). Additionally, there is an error with the program showing my town as Freehold, NJ, which is incorrect as I have no association with that place. I have been unsuccessful in trying to reach out to anyone for assistance. I would appreciate speaking with a customer service representative to resolve these problems. Please update my name to just "Lori" and correct my town to West Long Branch instead of Freehold. Kindly give me a call on Monday after 12 PM EST at [redacted].

I am forwarding the message from the board for assistance. I deactivated my account previously, but it seems like someone is using my profile without my permission. I did not send a message to this person on September 19, and I'm puzzled about where she found my information. This situation is quite concerning to me. Please address this issue promptly, as I have read negative feedback about your customer service. If you handle this well, I will be sure to leave a positive review. Thank you, Shirly Gilad

I underwent treatment for tongue cancer and had part of my tongue removed, followed by radiation therapy, which has greatly impacted my ability to eat solid foods. Recently, scans have shown issues with my abdomen, gallstones, and blocked bile ducts, with further testing scheduled for November to check for lung cancer growth. Due to my health challenges and family history of cancer, I need to cancel my Meetup subscription and have all my information permanently deleted. Unfortunately, due to memory issues caused by past radiation treatments, I accidentally signed up for a Meetup I cannot attend. I have already canceled my subscriptions to eBay and Amazon Prime last year and find it difficult to navigate unsubscribing from platforms like PayPal. I am seeking help in identifying the correct contact, possibly at the corporate level, who can assist me in permanently unsubscribing. Please reach out to me via email at [redacted] Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

I canceled my account either in March or February and was assured that I would receive a refund for the first month. However, upon checking my credit card statement, I noticed that I have been continuously charged every month since then without a refund or cancellation. I specifically opted for the $50 maximum program, not the $14.99 program, when I canceled, expecting a full refund and closure of my account. This situation is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I had been contemplating reactivating my meetup, but this experience has made me reconsider. I have informed my card company to stop all future payments to meetup and have requested refunds for the unauthorized charges. Meetup needs to resolve this immediately to regain my trust. This entire ordeal is unacceptable and has added unnecessary stress to my plate.

Dear members of Riverdale Book Lovers, I want to update you all regarding our upcoming meetup. After a recent incident at our usual meeting spot, I have decided to change the location for our future gatherings. The next meetup will be at a new restaurant this Thursday, Sept. 27th at 7:00 pm. I understand there have been differing opinions on this change, but I believe it is for the best given the circumstances. I want to address the emails some of you have received suggesting a meeting at the original restaurant instead. While everyone is free to choose where they gather, I want to clarify that the official meetup for our book group will be at the new location. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thank you all for your support and I look forward to seeing you at the new restaurant. Warm regards, Arlyne Z.

I have been facing ongoing issues with a Meetup Group and its organizer. Despite trying to overlook the problems, ignoring them hasn't worked. I now realize I need additional support, so I am reaching out to you at Meetup's corporate level. I specifically require help to obtain refunds for three events I have paid for in full. -My attendance status for this weekend's Bubble Run was changed to 'not going' without my consent. -The organizer has been isolating me from other group members, making it clear that nobody wants to join events I attend. I offered to be refunded for the wineries weekend but she declined. -I paid $[redacted] for a PINK concert ticket, and now the organizer is selling the same tickets for $[redacted], which seems unfair. Since August, the organizer has refused further communication with me. I have abided by this decision. I have refrained from contacting her directly but am now seeking assistance from your corporate office. I hope you can help resolve these issues and ensure I receive full refunds for all events. I aim to avoid any unnecessary conflicts or legal actions but may proceed if a prompt resolution is not reached by Tuesday night. The group is named 'Fabulous Ladies from Long Island to NYC' organized by Christina Taveres. I am willing to provide any necessary documentation of payments. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I need to report an individual named Paul Kim from Los Angeles. He can be easily found on Facebook and YouTube. He has an account on Meetup.com, likely in Asian professionals, bicycling/biking, or Los Angeles events - Asians groups. I believe he is misusing the site based on my unpleasant interaction with him and feeling manipulated. The reason for my report is that he pointed a gun at me, showing a disregard for Meetup and its members. I felt abused and frightened by his actions and misuse of the platform. Please reach out to me for more information. E.W.

I created a Meetup named "Single Christ-Followers of Nashville" in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday. I was informed that an email would be sent to potential members after scheduling the event. I have not received any communication or seen any results, and I am concerned as no members have joined yet. Could you kindly confirm if my Meetup was announced to the group? My name is Lee Lazarus, and you can reach me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] Thank you.

Hello, I received this email from Meetup and I'm puzzled by its contents. I serve as the Co-President of West Suburban Parents of Multiples (WSPoMs). We have an active We Pay account linked to our Meetup for the past year. We have an upcoming event on Saturday, October 27th that requires payment from our members. Why am I receiving this email about setting up a We Pay account when we already have one? I want to ensure that our members' payments are processed through We Pay as intended. Your clarification is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I received a message from an organizer after a miscommunication. I left their group after feeling micromanaged and received a harsh message from them. They called me disrespectful and passive-aggressive, which I found unnecessary. The organizer claimed I didn't RSVP for an event, but Meetup automatically sends event notifications to all members. They mentioned that using the comments section is not allowed, which I was unaware of. The organizer emphasized the importance of following group rules and respecting them. They indicated that members who don't comply are removed. The message ended with them wishing me well. I found this interaction upsetting and unnecessary. I'm unsure if this behavior is appropriate for an organizer.

Your customer support and event customization tools need improvement. The phone support only handles billing issues, and there is no clear email support available. Both the new and old event customization interfaces have had noticeable bugs. Previously, the option to switch to the classic user interface allowed for more flexibility, but it's not currently available. My specific issue is trying to change the maximum number of guests for one of my groups, which has inexplicably been limited to 5. I can't locate where to adjust this in the customization interface. I used to access this setting through the classic interface. Despite my experience in software development, the solution eludes me and likely other users. I need to set the max guests to 20 or more for my bi-weekly meetup event. Contact me at [redacted] or [redacted]. Thanks, B.

I would like to cancel my Meetup subscription immediately. I have tried to cancel twice in the last two months using this email address, but I have still been charged. Please confirm a refund for the last two months and ensure that my subscription is canceled permanently. I can be reached at [redacted] If I do not receive confirmation, I will report this to the Better Business Bureau. It seems many others have faced similar issues with canceling Meetup subscriptions. Your process is making it challenging for customers to end their subscriptions.

I wish to file a complaint about a Meetup Group named "Princeton Area Singles 50++," with organizers Gary Torres, Nora Stevenson, and Rob Esposito. I am specifically concerned about Admin member Nora Stevenson. My friend Joe C. and I were removed from the group by Nora for suggesting different activities. She has made it clear that she considers the group to be hers, deciding who stays and goes. Nora controls conversations, seating arrangements, and often argues with restaurant staff. There are more issues I could mention. Nora's behavior as the ORGANIZER/EVENT HOST is causing significant problems within the group, upsetting many active members. I request your attention to this matter as Nora's actions are affecting the group negatively, causing rifts between members. Thank you for looking into this. I hope to receive a response soon. I suspect I am being cyberstalked through the Meetup App. I have evidence in the form of screenshots from my phone, emails, and witnesses. It all started with an invitation to join the Memphis Women Writers group before Labor Day. After joining Meetup on my first iPhone, which has since been stolen, a strange image appeared on my phone with a woman's arm with a large bumblebee tattoo and an invite to the group. Soon after, the Memphis Women Writers group disappeared, and my search led me to the Memphis Writers group and Bill Webb, initiating ongoing weird encounters. I was contacted by a man named David Bjorn Scharping through Meetup, and I suspect I was manipulated into joining the app by a woman named Angela H. I also received a suspiciously altered email invitation from a subgroup called Writing in the Buff. After confirming the alteration with the sender, I am now requesting a thorough investigation of my account. I have been advised by the Memphis Library to contact the police regarding this matter.
