The issue in GetHuman-mommyvai's own words
Bravos XL set. Brand new, less than a week old. * loads done. *st load was * bath towels (not thick), * hand towels, * wash cloths, * kitchen towels. The water level was not enough and I had to manually push the towels down and around. Then the motion of the paddles and drum barely rippled any visible water. The towels did not move position. When the cycle was done the towels did not smell fresh. I use vinegar and baking soda with a little bit of Tide. I dried the towels and although they dried in just one cycle, they looked crinkly and did not smell freshly washed. **nd queen sized blanket. Again, nowhere near enough water to cover the blanket. I manually pushed and moved the blanket around. This was not due to an air bubble and it was not floating. The movememt of the drum and paddles barely moved any water and hardly any was visible. I used the bedding cycle. At the rinse portion there was * small streams of water coming out as the drum circled. The water never reached the outer edge or the center. There was no visible water in the drum to properly rinse. I allowed the cycle to finish as we had recently moved and the temperature dropped drastically and we needed this blanket. *The blanket went into the dryer on the bedding setting. I ran it for the full cycle, still wet. I ran it again, on bulky this time, highest temp setting. It was late and we needed to get to bed. I checked it when there was ** min left, about half way, still wet. I let it finish the cycle. We went to bed using throws from the living room for warmth. The next day it had sat in the dryer until I got home. I went to get it out knowing it surely had to be dry....nope!! I fumingly set the dryer again, on bedding. I got it out at the end, again time for bed. It was still damp!!!! I set it again, went to get ready for bed and went back, **min or so. Still damp!!!! I left it. I was so mad. Temperature was ** degrees again and we used small throws to sleep with. I refused to use the electricity to run it again. It should NOT be necessary.**After this fiasco I searched for reviews specifically stating my issues. Well, to no surprise, there are hundreds of people with the same complaints!! I am not very happy. These are design flaws. These are poor product testing errors. These machines are a waste of money. I am very upset as I had passed on getting the brand I originally wanted due to the OLD Maytag reputation. Now I must add my name to the list of consumers duped by Maytag.
