My mother’s return plane ticket was sold to another passenger!!! I am very disappointed by the service we have received.**On **rd August **** my mother- Mrs Taiwo missed her flight from London to Split (please see ticket attached). Booking reference: RVSNCK. **My mother called you to inform you but was just put on hold for over ** min. Being my brother’s wedding, my mother had to quickly buy another ticket to get to Split as quickly and as cheaply as possible. **On **th August ****, my mum went to the airport in Split to return to London. When trying to check-in my mother was told that her ticket had been sold to another passenger and that there was no flight available that day. You can imagine how distressed my mother was. My mum and Dad were due to travel together but with no seat on the plane my mother could not fly. There was no Lufthansa representative at the airport and no one seem to know what was going on. My mother was passed from person to person. To cut a very long upsetting story short, my mother had to buy another ticket for the next day costing £***.**. With no accommodation available at such short notice, my mother who is elderly and has never travelled on her own, had to spend the whole night at the airport on her own. **This has been an awful, awful experience for my mum. Why would you sell her return ticket without warning her. This is crazy!**Since my mother has returned to London she has not only been in great pain from staying at the airport over night but has also been very stressed trying to get someone at Lufthansa on the phone. She has been offered £** airport tax as compensation, she has been put on hold for long periods of time and even had the phone put down on her twice. **We have received terrible customer service. My mother has flown with Lufthansa many times before and can’t understand why the service this time has been so bad. To be offer £** airport tax as compensation is not good enough for a loyal customer.**Please ensure something will be done in way of compensation. At the minimum the cost of the ticket should be reimbursed- see attached the ticket brought due to the fact that her return ticket was sold to another passenger.**I hope to hear from you very soon. Please treat this this urgent and very important as my mum is very worried about this.
