I have made multiple calls and honestly, this new system implemented by LA DMV is truly the worst. It's frustrating having to endure repeated "due to high call volume" messages requiring six to seven call attempts, only to then face sudden disconnections after long hold times. Keeping my patience, I strive to reach a higher-level supervisor or even consider contacting my congressman to address these issues. Despite the struggle, once you surpass the lengthy hold times, assistance becomes more accessible. After a continued effort, I was thankfully contacted by a supervisor, who was understanding regarding the system's flaws and expressed plans for improvements. It seems the main setback lies in funding constraints. I am inclined to escalate this concern to my congressman and representative, as both customers and staff should not have to endure such difficulties.

I have been attempting for two months to update my license after contesting a traffic violation in Assumption Parish. The DMV refuses to accept the court's final decision due to the wording issue. The court asserts they have completed all necessary steps and have forwarded the final paperwork to the DMV. Contacting a live person at the DMV is impossible as the phone line is always busy. The only communication I receive is from a no-reply email repeating the same message. Despite fulfilling all requirements, my license remains unupdated. I now reside in Indiana and require my license for work. Visiting the LA DMV in person is not feasible. I am seeking assistance to resolve this matter. I have been wrongly charged, resulting in me being license-less for almost a year and a half, which is unacceptable. I intend to file complaints and reach out to higher authorities to address this issue.

I am seeking assistance with resolving issues related to my driver's license. I am willing to make installment payments, but I am facing challenges that are not my fault. I have two $[redacted] tickets that were wrongly issued to me. Additionally, there is a $[redacted] ticket dated 12/6/[redacted]. When I was incarcerated from October 3, [redacted], to April 3, [redacted], my insurance was canceled as my grandmother attempted to transfer it to my brother's name without my knowledge. Despite being unable to use the phone during my time in jail, my brother continued to drive the car under my name without returning the tags. I can provide evidence of my incarceration to support my case. I urge you to transfer this ticket to my brother, Matthew B. J., born on August 10, [redacted], as I had no control over the situation. Thank you for understanding and assisting with this matter.

During the past two years, my husband suffered from a brain condition that tragically led to his passing on Jan 11, [redacted]. Unbeknownst to me, our insurance lapsed multiple times, resulting in the suspension of our license. As a disabled individual living alone without Medicare assistance, I am struggling to manage my finances. I have exhausted all available payment options and now face the burden of full payment. With a monthly income of $[redacted], covering my $[redacted] house payment and an electric bill of $[redacted] leaves me with little for insurance and food. I can only afford a maximum payment of $[redacted] per month or could prioritize auto insurance by paying $[redacted] monthly for 5.5 months. I urgently need financial assistance to regain control of my situation and be able to support myself. My inability to attend appointments and purchase groceries due to these financial constraints is a pressing issue, and I hope to resolve this soon.

Hello, my name is Sheila M., and I am reaching out regarding an insurance issue I had with my Nissan back in [redacted]. After providing documentation from Liberty Insurance to correct a mistake in the VIN number entry, I thought the matter was resolved. However, in [redacted], I was surprised to find that the state of LA had seized funds due to an alleged auto insurance non-compliance issue. Despite having my own car with continuous insurance coverage, I was unaware of any problem related to my name. In [redacted], I purchased a Toyota Venza for my daughter, who later switched to Safe Auto insurance while traveling abroad between December [redacted] and March [redacted]. I only learned about the policy lapse after the funds were taken, and I am prepared to provide proof of insurance to address this issue promptly. Thank you.

I visited the DMV in Carencro, LA on May 1st to renew my license. However, I was not informed about the Real ID requirement and had to return on May 2nd. I was assigned a number to wait, but after waiting for an hour, my number was skipped, causing me to get a new number and wait even longer. When I finally got to address the issue, they insisted on taking a new photo since they couldn't use the previous one. The previous day, I had been allowed to keep my glasses on for the photo, which was preferable. But on the second visit, I was not allowed to wear glasses, and the staff member rushed me, resulting in an unsatisfactory photo. I would like the chance to retake the photo with my glasses on without incurring an additional fee, as the rushed process led to an unfavorable outcome.

I visited the DMV at [redacted] NW Evangeline Throughway in Lafayette LA on May 1st to renew my driver's license. Initially, I wasn't informed about the Real ID requirements, so I returned on May 2nd. Upon waiting for an hour with my assigned number, it was skipped, leading to a longer wait with a new number. When I finally rectified the issue, I was asked to take a new photo because they couldn't use the previous one, which I took the day before with my glasses on. The original photo was preferred, but during the second visit, I was rushed and not permitted to keep my glasses on, resulting in an unsatisfactory picture. I would like to have the opportunity to retake the photo with my glasses without additional charges, as I believe the rushed process impacted the quality of the image.

I visited the Lake Charles OMV office to update my name and get a new ID card. I was initially issued a number, but it was changed when I mentioned the name change. Despite watching others who arrived after me get served, I wasn't called. After 90 minutes, I inquired and was told I needed to see someone at window 13 for the name change. After 3 hours, I asked for the supervisor, Kristen Rickert, who confirmed the same instruction. Eventually, 15 minutes later, I was helped at window 7 instead of 13 as needed for the name change. It seemed unnecessary that only specific staff could handle a simple name change during an ID renewal.

The call center has long wait times, sometimes providing incorrect information, making it challenging to reach them again once disconnected. The employees were mostly impolite, with the exception of one named Linda. I am Linda Rhodes from Pineville, LA. I have been using my savings account successfully for the past 3 to 4 years. However, recent transactions incorrectly coded to checking caused $30 fees each time. Despite receiving confirmation of payment, three additional transactions were attempted, with only $4 credited back. Trying to rectify the situation due to erroneous information, they reset my payments to a longer period without my consent. I sought to maintain my original payment amount but was promised a callback that never happened. My health issues led to financial struggles, compounded by insurance woes. The misunderstanding led to significant fines, affecting my ability to keep up with payments. Following an investigation by my credit union, the overdraft charges were reversed. Could you kindly review my account to ensure future payments are debited from my savings, not checking account as previously assumed.

I've been eagerly awaiting a call from the Baton Rouge DMV regarding the status of my form for obtaining my driver's license. I need this form for my upcoming appointment at the psychiatry clinic next Thursday, December 17, [redacted], at 9:00 am, as well as for my neurology clinic appointment. Both appointments are at Ochsner LSU Health Women and Children Clinic. I'm hoping they reach out soon. My cell number is [redacted].

My North Dakota license was handed to someone pretending to be me in Fargo. I was told the police recovered it from that person in Louisiana, a place I have never been. I reported this incident long ago but haven't been able to clear it up yet. I possess certificates, a social security number, employment records, and other documents to verify my identity. I request your help in contacting North Dakota or reaching out to me directly to assist in resolving this issue so I can retrieve my license. The person who had my license must be prosecuted without delay. When you email me, I will provide the necessary documentation. Please arrange for a Spanish interpreter as my English proficiency is limited, and I want to ensure no details are missed or misunderstood. Thank you. Sincerely, William E. Soto Correa

I recently received a cancellation of liability notice for one of my vehicles. I have two identical vehicles and mistakenly canceled the insurance for the wrong one. I have now reinstated the liability coverage for the correct vehicle. I am aware that there may be a fee associated with this due to the lapse in coverage. Could you please provide me with information regarding the amount of this fee? Thank you. - Sean W. from Louisiana, Plate # 824AIU

Hello, I'm Anita Bauer, a title clerk at Freedom Kia in Morgantown, WV. We recently had a [redacted] Ford Fiesta traded in with a Q title from Louisiana, but the title was not provided by the customer. Despite our efforts to obtain it, we were unsuccessful. The car had been sold multiple times without the necessary title. The current owner of the title, Katherine Doucet, has a job that keeps her constantly on the move around the U.S., making it difficult to reach her. Additionally, her father is also listed on the title, but we don't have his driver's license information. He reportedly works on barges and is often away for long periods, further complicating our attempts to obtain the title. Any suggestions on how we can resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I had a scheduled court hearing for a ticket but was mistakenly sent to the wrong courtroom. It took two hours to figure out that I should have been in your courtroom for an extension discussion. I was granted an extension for another case and asked if I could bring the paperwork to the DMV, but they require paperwork for the other case as well. This is hindering my ability to obtain my license and care for my disabled son, attend monthly appointments, and go to work. I was informed the judge is unavailable tomorrow, and I have work on Thursday at both jobs. Any assistance would be appreciated, thank you for considering my situation. I have been trying to reach the DMV for several months with no success. E. Mayo

I am currently in the process of obtaining my driver's license in Kansas. However, I have encountered an issue where the state of Louisiana has apparently suspended my license. According to the clerk, this suspension is due to an unpaid ticket in Spring Hill, KS, which I have already resolved and even had been arrested for. I possess both a reinstatement letter and a receipt from the Spring Hill, KS court proving the payment. Despite numerous attempts to contact the Louisiana OMV over the past month, I have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone to rectify this error. Living in Kansas City for the past 15 years, it is not feasible for me to visit the Louisiana office in person. I urgently require my driver's license for an upcoming court date. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Quintell B.

I bought a vehicle with VIN KNDJT2A60C[redacted] on July 8th. My temporary registration expires on September 8th. I have the bill of sale but haven't received the title from Federal Auto Sales at 24 WestBank Expressway, Gretna, LA. I'm aware I should have paid the sales tax by now to avoid penalties, which I will handle. I've had trouble reaching the dealership and still don't have the title. I plan to visit the OMV office on Monday to settle the necessary payments. I'm unsure of my options without the title in hand. Thank you. Kris O.

I obtained a Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate for my car on July 25, [redacted], at the Pineville DMV. When I tried to get one for my motorcycle, they mentioned they had to order it and took my contact number. Despite checking about three weeks ago, I was informed the plate hadn't arrived yet, and they assured me they would notify me upon its arrival. I'm curious if this waiting period is typical for a motorcycle DV plate. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Phillip S. Love

I am reaching out on behalf of my 92-year-old mother. We are looking to replace an auto title from Louisiana dating back to [redacted] or [redacted]. Both my parents are listed on the title. Following Hurricane Katrina in [redacted], they moved to Texas where the car was then registered, but Texas does not require a title transfer. Planning to sell the car, we are unable to locate the title; it may have been lost during Katrina. My father passed away in [redacted], leaving a will where my mother is named as the beneficiary and is also on the title. Despite numerous attempts, we have been unable to contact the Office of Motor Vehicles. Texas authorities have informed us that a sale without the title is not possible. How can we go about replacing the title remotely to facilitate the sale of the vehicle? Thank you.

I have experienced a series of unfortunate events regarding my vehicles recently. On September 24th, my car with VIN 5FNY3H66BB021273 was stolen, leaving me without transportation. Despite investigations, no leads have been found. Subsequently, I purchased a new vehicle with VIN 5FNYF3H57BB016963 on November 9th in Mississippi, though I am a resident of Orleans Parish, Louisiana. However, the DMV has not received the registration information from the dealership, leaving me without official ownership. The recent ransomware issue has further complicated matters. Driving an unregistered vehicle poses risks, and I am seeking assistance to resolve this situation promptly. If anyone can offer help or guidance, please let me know.
