Dear LinkedIn, **I have been an active member for many years and have successfully applied to jobs, interacted with companies and gained new contacts and opportunities. I trust LinkedIn. However, this evening I became wary of a current job posting: "Photographer at Loft Studios in the Greater Los Angeles Area." I applied to this position on Monday. It was not an Easy Apply so I filled out the application directly on their website, which I was redirected to when I hit "Apply" on the LinkedIn post. (https:**www.loftstudio.pictures*apply). Please note their website says they are based in Texas. Their Director*Photographer, David Vincent, contacted me today to offer a photography assistant position for a Michael Kors shoot in NYC September *-*th. Plane ticket and hotel expenses paid for by the client. Originally, I bought into the detailed offer. An official contract was drafted, but what made me hesitate was the payment process. The promise of a check and a travel agent. And, a few typos. It made me wonder why I was being offered a photography assistant job in NYC when I disclosed that I was based in LA. I've previously worked in NYC. There are plenty of qualified PAs! I phoned David and was not convinced by the brief call. Anyway, I just wanted to bring this post to your attention seeing that it has *** views and ** other applicants. I will continue to be a loyal LinkedIn user, but now with more caution. Thanks for your time.
