I was trying to fix the TV if possible. ... In October **** my daughter surprised me with an LG ** inch flat screen tv, model * **LB****.*On September ** my aide turned on the the tv and the entire screen was a pastel blue that faded to black. The sound is fine. The screen stayed black.* In the past I’ve had RCA’s, and a Vizio That worked well over a decade. I’m watching the Vizio now. *I didn’t expect a four year old TV to stop working only to find that it was cheaper to buy a new TV than get your TV fixed. Neither of which I can afford.*The TV was purchased at Best Buy. They don’t repair locally. For $*** a technician makes a housecall to let me know if my LG TV can be repaired. If it can, they ship the TV to wherever they repair it and take $*** off the bill, which the Best Buy employee said would be so high that it would be cheaper to buy a new TV.*This is more of a cautionary tale. While I hope most LG products last longer than * years, I don’t expect them to resolve this since I also am at fault since I Never purchased the repair insurance package, because I never had a problem with any appliance. I won’t make that mistake in the future.
It was especially frustrating because I could not take the TV back to Best Buy to see if it could be repaired.
To be fair, I should have bought repair insurance. Right now it’s been resolved with me watching my old Vizio, lesson learned.
This was my first LG product and, as far as TVs go, it will probably be my last.
