I am currently at LA Fitness on Hospitality Blvd in San Bernardino, California. A fellow member has been regularly bringing a loud portable boombox to the gym to play their own music, causing a clash of sound with the gym's music. Despite staff being aware, no action has been taken. Today, I had to leave after only ten minutes due to the disruptive music. When I inquired about the rules, the staff member was unsure and mentioned that all postings must come from corporate. Feeling frustrated, I wonder if this behavior is condoned by LA Fitness or if there are guidelines against it. The situation made it hard for me to relax and work out, negatively affecting my gym experience. I believe the ambiance plays a significant role in the gym's appeal. If this behavior is acceptable, I may need to consider switching to a different gym for a more peaceful environment.

I have a detailed record of my phone conversations for situations like this. I feel ignored and taken advantage of. I signed papers for a personal trainer on Monday, April 22, with the specific instruction that I needed until Wednesday, April 24, to review my bills before the payment would go through. However, the payment was processed on the same day without my consent. When I called that night, I was advised to call back on Thursday morning. During a conversation on Thursday, a manager informed me that it was too late to cancel, even though I was assured in the recording that I had 3 days to do so. The manager seemed more concerned about repercussions on their team member's stats than on my situation. They promised a callback, which never happened. Despite my efforts to reach out on April 30, the manager did not take my call. Their response implied that it was my responsibility to remember the deadline for cancellation. I am considering sharing these recordings publicly to highlight the treatment I received, especially after notifying the manager, Andrew, that I was recording. This incident occurred at the Shore Drive location in Indianapolis, IN.

My spouse and I have been loyal LA Fitness members at Legacy Village, Lyndhurst, Ohio for a decade. The pool, a key reason for our membership, has been an icy 72 degrees for three weeks. Despite management acknowledging the issue with a printed notice, the pool's frigid temperature has prevented us from swimming comfortably. The front desk mentioned a broken heater and the hope for a fix on Monday during our recent inquiry. Although promised updates, the responses to my follow-up calls ranged from an ordered part to a backordered item. Health restrictions limit me to aquatic activities, causing a three-week workout hiatus. A refund for April and the duration of the heater's malfunction seems just. Frequent pool problems suggest inadequate facility management. Urgent intervention from corporate to streamline repairs is necessary for customer satisfaction. Your attention to this matter is appreciated. Thank you, P and D. Siska

While visiting the East Colonial Drive club in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:50 p.m., I encountered an issue with a personal trainer. I was doing crunches in a corner of the Personal Trainer area due to overcrowding in the general mat area. Despite the PT area being empty, a personal trainer entered with two clients and rudely asked me to leave. The receptionist was unable to provide his name, describing him as a large, black, muscular individual. I was advised to use a mat in the aerobic room, which was occupied by a class at the time. I found the personal trainer's behavior to be very impolite given the ample space in the PT area. I'm hoping for a response from LA Fitness regarding this incident.

To whom it may concern, I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to bring this matter to your attention. Recently, I transitioned from 24 Hour Fitness to LA Fitness with the understanding that my 7-month-old infant would receive proper care while my wife and I worked out. Unfortunately, we have encountered some issues. The gym promised to provide a swing for my child's safekeeping during exercise sessions, but it has been reported as "broken" with no immediate action taken by the staff to address it as a priority. This has resulted in my child being left on the floor unsupervised, as the staff seemed reluctant to handle the situation during an incident on 5/2/19 with the morning staff. We are concerned about our child's safety and well-being at the gym, as we were led to believe that proper care would be provided. We are hesitant to cancel our lifelong membership, but if our child cannot be in a secure environment, we may have no choice but to terminate our contract. We appreciate any assistance in resolving this matter promptly. Thank you, Danny U.

Subject: Payment Discrepancy and Cash Payment Issue I am currently enrolled in the fitness program at LA Fitness Greenfield/Baseline Mesa, AZ under barcode # F[redacted]7. My contract is ending this May, and my final payment of $[redacted] is due on the 7th. However, the system shows I owe $[redacted], while my payment stubs indicate $[redacted]. I want to settle the $[redacted] balance in cash instead of charging my credit card. Despite referring and bringing in three new members, I have faced monthly fee problems since January, causing frustration. I appreciate the opportunity to address these issues and wish to complete my training sessions per the contract terms and make the final cash payment as intended. Unfortunately, the team at the facility mentioned they couldn't process the cash payment due to a system limitation. I seek assistance in resolving this matter promptly. Thank you for your help.

In early April, I renewed my LA Fitness membership. Following a text message prompting me to come in for a personal assessment, I opted to engage a personal trainer. Initially quoted a $[redacted] initiation fee, which I found steep and had to split into two payments. Subsequently, when I expected a $[redacted] charge, I observed $[redacted] withdrawn from my account. Upon expressing my wish to discontinue the training due to cost, I was informed I had signed a contract. Despite attempting to cancel in April and reiterating my desire not to continue in May, I was still charged $[redacted]. The customer service I received was extremely poor. I demand a refund for the incorrect charges. If unaddressed, I will seek legal counsel.

I joined LA Fitness at the start of [redacted] to focus on getting back in shape. Recently, I decided to invest in personal training. The trainer has been great, but the overall service hasn't met my expectations. I was promised a nutrition plan, help with tracking calories, and weekly hour-long training sessions, which I haven't received. The nutrition advice was vague, and I was advised to use a paid app for calorie counting. While the trainer is professional, our sessions are cut short. Considering the high cost of over $[redacted] per month, I feel it's not worth it. I would like to cancel my contract for personal training with LA Fitness.

I am Antonia Vicari, a LA Fitness member, and my friend goes to Planet Fitness. I wanted to bring her as a guest to show her what LA Fitness has to offer. However, the salesperson behaved inappropriately, making us feel uncomfortable. Despite arriving at 6:50 pm on 5/3/19, we were kept there until 7:40 pm. The salesperson flirted with us, made jokes, and asked intrusive questions, creating a negative experience. I tried to steer the conversation back to working out, but he continued with his unprofessional behavior. This was not the welcoming environment I expected for a guest pass. I hope to discuss this incident further with someone from LA Fitness to address this issue. Thank you.

Hello, I wanted to share my recent experience with the staff at your club on Route 22 Union, NJ. I had been facing issues with the lack of hot water in the men's showers for days, and when I raised this concern, the older lady at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional not only to me but also to other members. This behavior seems to be a pattern at this location. As customers who pay monthly fees, my family and I should not have to endure such treatment. The front desk representatives are the first and last faces we see at the gym, and they should be courteous and pleasant. It is disheartening that there is a lack of professionalism and negativity amongst some employees. It's frustrating that there is no manager available to address these concerns. I'm open to discussing these ongoing issues either via email or phone, as I hope to see improvements to avoid cancelling my family's membership. Thank you.

I am disappointed with the customer service at the LA Fitness Akers Mills location. I recently joined this past Monday and scheduled a session with a personal trainer named Walter for Wednesday at 3pm. However, I received an email reminder stating the appointment was at 12pm. When I called to clarify, the manager of trainers, Mac, informed me that Walter had been transferred. I explained my lunch break constraints, but he suggested a different time. Upon arriving at 3pm on Wednesday, the trainer was a no-show, and the staff seemed disorganized in handling the situation. The lack of communication and professionalism displayed by the staff, including the operations manager, was disappointing. This experience has left me considering canceling my membership due to the poor service.

On 5/8/19 around 2 pm, while using the stairs machine at LA Fitness on [redacted] North Sepulveda Blvd, Van Nuys, CA, I experienced an asthma attack triggered by aerosol chemicals sprayed by the cleaning lady. Despite trying to report it to the manager, Michelle B., she did not acknowledge me for about 20 minutes. I aim to address this issue with management as my concern is the safety of all gym members. Thanks for understanding and I anticipate a swift resolution. - Roland H.

I recently visited LA Fitness in Markham at the Woodbine and Hwy 7 location with my mom and sister to try a class. We were asked for ID to enter, which was fine. However, I had a negative encounter with the manager, Amir. His unfriendly and unkind manner left me feeling sad. Despite paying nearly $80 monthly for my membership, I was treated poorly. When I requested help with the garbage, he refused and even threatened to cancel my membership. I am truly upset about the whole experience.

To whom it may concern, As a recent guest at the LA Fitness facility on [redacted] Cheltenham Ave, I wanted to share my experience. I was impressed with the equipment, enjoyed the class I attended, and found the pool to be great. The crowd size was just right, and it was motivating to see everyone working out. However, I had some concerns that have made me reconsider signing up for a membership. The condition of the locker room bathrooms was disappointing, and I recognize the challenge of maintaining cleanliness in a gym setting. What really bothered me was seeing a female staff member changing at the front desk, wearing only underwear bottoms with an LA Fitness shirt. This made me uncomfortable, especially after using the locker rooms myself. As a new member, I found this unprofessional and off-putting. I believe appropriate changing areas should be used to avoid such incidents, particularly considering the presence of children in the gym. I hope this issue can be addressed to maintain a professional environment at the gym. Thank you.

Good morning, Three months ago, when I signed up with LA Fitness, I paid $[redacted] for what I thought was just an enrollment and annual fee. However, last month I was charged an extra $53 for another annual fee that I was not aware of. To make things worse, this charge went to my old bank account, resulting in extra bank fees. Now, I want to cancel my contract with LA Fitness due to the undisclosed fees and additional charges that were not explained to me when I signed up. Thank you, Luisa

I recently became a member at LA Fitness about 2-3 months ago and was surprised by an unexpected annual fee charge of $98.00 this week. Despite being reassured by the sales manager at the Springfield branch, Derrick West, that I would be refunded, the charge has already been withdrawn from my account without the promised refund. I decided to cancel my membership due to this issue as I was unaware of when this fee would be deducted. No staff member informed me upon joining that there would be such an immediate charge following the initiation fees I had already paid. Derrick West assured me of a refund regardless of any contract terms, so I am requesting an immediate refund as per his assurance. Thank you.

My name is Janelle Ross, and I am contacting you regarding an issue at the facility located at [redacted] IL-59, Plainfield, IL [redacted]. I had a concerning experience with the assistant general manager, Kim, and Devon, who misled me. On May 18, [redacted], at 8:50 am, Kim refused to issue a refund for an annual fee I was not informed about. She directed me to contact corporate, which was closed on Saturdays. Despite my efforts, I was met with dishonesty and poor customer service. Consequently, I have decided to cancel my membership at L.A. Fitness due to the lack of transparency and professionalism displayed by the staff. I urge corporate to refund me the $49.00 fee and address the misleading behavior of the employees at this location. Regrettably, I will no longer be using the facilities or recommending L.A. Fitness to others. Thank you for understanding my frustration and disappointment. Sincerely, Janelle Ross [redacted] [redacted]

Hello, I recently received a call from an individual at the Mesa Arizona gym regarding my debit card being compromised at a local gas station. Although I've taken steps to resolve the issue, the caller seemed more concerned about payment than understanding my situation. I found this lack of empathy frustrating, especially given the inconvenience of not having access to my debit card. Furthermore, I've noticed several issues at the gym that need addressing, such as members entering without verification and equipment not being properly maintained. These factors make the late fee threat seem trivial in comparison. I plan to escalate this matter to corporate and would appreciate a follow-up call and the caller's name. Thank you, M.F.

I am experiencing distressing behavior from the sales representative Jasmin at the Van Nuys and Sepulveda location. Her conduct includes yelling, physical contact, and discussing me with colleagues. On a recent visit, she verbally abused me in front of other members, making me feel stalked and uncomfortable. Despite my clear refusal of her requests for rides and other personal favors, she continues to behave inappropriately. This situation is causing me anxiety and distress. I have already raised this issue with two managers, Ryan in Van Nuys and Stephanie in Downtown LA, and am considering legal action if not resolved promptly due to concerns of sexual harassment. My barcode is F[redacted]2. I urge the management to address this matter urgently in line with company policies against harassment. Thank you.

Hello, I have encountered ongoing harassment at LA Fitness that has deeply troubled me. The manager handling my complaint seemed to imply that I was the issue and displayed frustration when I attempted to take notes during our conversation. People at the gym have been pointing and whispering, which is unsettling. Despite explaining to the manager that this harassment originated elsewhere, he sternly stated that such behavior would not be tolerated at LA Fitness. I mentioned my concern to the VP, but was informed the previous VP was no longer there. I feel disheartened by the lack of action taken by the gym's management to address this issue, especially after being assured it would be resolved. I sincerely hope for a resolution to this distressing situation as I have been a loyal member for about three years. My name is Nathan Hayes, contactable at [redacted] or [redacted] Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated.
