The issue in GetHuman-bridgeh's own words
I just shopped at the store that you have at ** Shelter Cove Lane in Hilton Head. This was my second large (over $***) in two days at this store. I have shopped for quite a while at Kroger until they closed the stores in North Carolina. I have always been very pleased with the service prior to this visit. Today, however, I got to the check out and was asked if I would bag my own groceries and I said that I would rather not bag my own groceries. I was told by the cashier that they did not have any baggers even though there was some bagging groceries at the check out immediately beside the check out that I was in. In response to my answer - the cashier informed me that there was not anyone to bag my groceries. Now, I understand that the store was busy, but why ask a question if there wasn’t an option? Also why do some of the checkouts have a bagger and others do not? When the cashier got an attitude with me, I asked for the manager. When the manager came, she did not speak with me or ask for my side of the story. She talked to the cashier and then walked away. What the heck kind of customer service is that? I have a disability and the effort of getting my groceries took all of my energy. If this is how people with disabilities are treated at this store you have a major problem just because my disability is not visible to an uneducated eye does not mean that it isn’t there. I am hoping, based on my previous experiences with Kroger that this was an isolated incident and is not repeated with anyone else but wanted to ensure that what happened did not go without being reported. I hope and expect that action will be taken with both the manager and the cashier. The cashier’s name that is on my receipt is Parker.
