Help with my John Deere issue
The issue in GetHuman-eaweitka's own words
For over ** years I owned an LX *** with a **-inch mower and finally replaced it with an X *** with a **-inch mower last year. Both great machines.*I just have one issue and that is replacing the mower blades. For all the years I had the LX *** I never had a problem loosening the screws with an * inch Cresent wrench to replace the blades.*My new X*** has nearly the identical blade mounting but it is nearly impossible to loosen the screws to replace the blades. The srews are not rusted or damaged and I make sure to grease them and the spring washer before I use them again. I am using a box end wrench and can't get the srews loose. I have to extend the wrench by ** inches and use a hammer to make the screws move. Last time I actually I had to remove the mover deck, turn it over and with a long extension on my box wrench unscrew the blades.*What has changed? Was there an engineering change and what can I do? Changing the blades went from a * min easy job to a nearly hour-long hard one.*HELP!
GetHuman-eaweitka did not yet indicate what John Deere should do to make this right.
I have an issue with John Deere too
How GetHuman-eaweitka fixed the problem
The solution seems to be greasing the mounting screws and both sides of the blades including spring washers with really heavy grease. Has worked so far for me.*Never in ** years did I have to do that on my old LX ***. Wonder what has changed?
