We had an itinerary that had us leaving Chicago at *:** AM this morning to take us to Guayaquil with a layover in Fort Lauderdale. Around * or * AM, we luckily decided to double check the flight status and saw that our flight was delayed by three hours, but that JetBlue was working on resolving the issue and to still come to the airport at the originally scheduled time. We had received no direct notice from JetBlue. We had come to Chicago on a late bus from St Louis and as such were planning to head straight to the airport to catch our early flight. As instructed, we arrived to the airport at the original time. When checking in, we inquired about the delay and were informed that due to legal requirements for rest time for crew members between flights, and that there was no way our flight would leave before *:**. Had we had this information, we could have found accommodations and gotten some sleep instead of staying up all night because of the erroneous instructions and lack of communication we received from JetBlue. **Then, our flight from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil was supposed to leave at *:** PM. Boarding did not start until at least ** minutes after our scheduled departure time, with absolutely no communication from the crew members during this time. Once we finally boarded the plane, we were sitting at the gate for an hour, again with no communication from crew members as to what was going on. After an hour, an announcement was finally made ... to say that they had no idea how much longer it would be until we could take off. After another hour (two hours sitting in the plane at the gate), we were asked to deplane. We are now expected to take off in another aircraft at **:** PM, meaning we will most likely not arrive in Guayaquil until * AM. After customs and the trip from the airport to where we are staying, my partner and I are looking at the second night in a row with virtually no sleep, directly tied to JetBlue’s poor communication and organization. While we understand that the crew is probably not directly at fault, they have also not been communicative or in any way apologetic for the large inconvenience this has caused, mirroring our larger experience with JetBlue throughout our whole itinerary.**We have been very disappointed in our experience with JetBlue and this experience is causing my partner and I to seriously reconsider doing any business with JetBlue in the future. Again, we understand that delays happen and we have experienced delays flying various other airlines. However, this experience stands in stark difference with the lack of communication and the way these situations have been generally mismanaged by this airline.
