Carl E. and Linda T Volckmann ***** SE Brandywine Ct. *****Stuart, FL *********-***-*****CEV*****@***.com***December *, ******JetBlue Customer Service Department**To Whom it May Concern:**While we only live ** minutes from Palm Beach International airport, my wife and I elected to fly from Fort Lauderdale airport instead so that we could take advantage of your non-stop flight to Salt Lake City on November **th (flight *** *:** PM). Unfortunately, our inbound aircraft was delayed by bad weather in Philadelphia. However, JetBlue ultimately provided a replacement aircraft and we embarked four hours late at about **PM. For the next two hours we sat on the tarmac, with ZERO communications from the flight deck as to the cause of the delay. At midnight, we taxied back to the gate and were abruptly told the flight was cancelled and we’d have to deplane. The reason given was that the pilots reached their maximum duty time. Why, then, did we even load?**Imagine *** passengers dumped into a near-deserted terminal overwhelming the ticket clerks while trying to get new reservations and finding our dumped bags! By using *-***-jetblue we were finally able to get new reservations for the next day from West Palm to Boston (***) and from Boston to Salt Lake (***)—hardly the non-stop we planned on! As a result we had to take a $** taxi to a $*** motel at *:** in the morning, and the next day, a $** Uber ride from FLL to West Palm. Normally, in this kind of cancellation situation, other airlines will compensate for hotel costs, etc. No announcement to this effect was made by JetBlue at the time or since. Hence, I am now asking JetBlue for appropriate compensation for the dreadful, thoughtless and callous treatment we received that night.
