The issue in GetHuman-ktaveras's own words
Dear JetBlue,* *I would like to express the disappointment that was my experience with JetBlue in March **** when I travelled to the Dominican Republic. I did not have any issues on my departing flight from Orlando. I wish I could say the same for my returning flight. I arrived at the airport very early on March **th to return my rental car and have enough time to check in for my *am flight. Unfortunately, I had caught a stomach flu and was very ill dealing with terrible vomiting and diarrhea. Needless to say I was desperate to arrive in Orlando, FL to seek medical attention as soon as possible. Once at the airport I was informed that my non-stop Flight* **** for *:** am had been CANCELLED. Not delayed, but cancelled. They could not give me a reason for the cancellation or put me on another flight. I was supposed to wait to hear from you guys with new flight information. To my disadvantage SDQ airport is * hours from my family’s home in the Dominican Republic and I did not have anyone I can stay with near the Airport. I waited around the airport for hours with no news on a new flight. I was told someone from JetBlue would be contacting me via email. I called multiple times trying to get my new flight info. I became so ill that I was admitted to the hospital in Dominican Republic that afternoon. I finally got someone on the phone that evening only to be told that there were no direct flights from SDQ – MCO until Sunday, March **th. I was very upset and disappointed that I had no other options available but to take a **-**hr connecting flight in order to get home as sick as I was. I called so many times trying to get some assistance with getting home sooner, rather than later to get back to work. It was ridiculous that not only were you not able to place me on a comparable flight home in a timely manner, but I was dealing with very rude CSR’s in the process. There was no compassion on behalf of JetBlue. I was finally booked on JetBlue Flt***** scheduled to leave SDQ ********* @ *pm, with a connection through San Juan, PR. I had no choice but to take a long uncomfortable connecting flight in my condition because I had to return to work. Once I arrived at the airport for my *:** flight, I began to receive emails indicating that Flt***** was delayed * times (received * emails) and it finally had a new departure time of *:**pm. This was ridiculous considering what I had already been through this far. I had to pay * extra nights in a hotel and had extra transportation charges due to this cancellation and ended up having to travel on a *** hrs connecting flight. I wish I could say that is all I went through, but to make matter even worse, I was terminated by my employer because I was unable to make it to work on ******* as scheduled because of my cancelled flight. Once in the USA I called JetBlue to express how upset I was because of all that had occurred to me on my vacation that should have been a great memory of my engagement, but was far from a memorable one and the CSR that assisted me was not helpful at all. She gave me $*** credit towards future travel and explained that was all she can do since I did not have any receipts to show proof that I had incurred any extra charges. I feel that is just not right considering all that I had been through due to the cancellation of this flight. When they explained that the cancellation was due to a storm in the North, I could not understand how that storm would affect my flight from the Caribbean to Florida. My family and I have travelled with JetBlue many times in the past and I must say that this has been by far the worse experience ever. I got engaged in March while in the Dominican Republic and was planning a destination wedding there next March ****. I had all intentions of future travel with you guys but, now I’m not so sure after my recent experience. I would appreciate your attention in this matter.* *Thanks,* *Katherine Taveras*True blue* **********
