I submitted my income tax return with Jackson Hewitt in Barstow, California. Despite waiting well past the expected timeframe, I reached out to the tax preparer. After multiple attempts, I discovered an error on my taxes that needed to be resolved with the IRS. Despite informing my tax preparer and requesting assistance, he insists it's not his problem and that I should handle it. I am unable to address this issue independently. It has been several weeks since I filed in February, and I have yet to receive my refund. Each time I contact the tax preparer, he provides excuses. Despite contacting multiple people at Jackson Hewitt, including supervisors who promised a call back, no resolution has been provided. I am frustrated and believe I should receive a refund for the services I paid for.

I have been a loyal TurboTax user for seven years, relying on the service yearly. Unfortunately, this tax season, an employee's errors led to significant issues. Initially filing my status incorrectly as single instead of head of household, they mishandled my refund amount. Despite being entitled to $6,[redacted], I only received $4,[redacted] after processing. I am now seeking a second opinion from a different tax professional to determine the impact on my children's finances. I find it frustrating that while TurboTax swiftly deducts fees from bank cards, they do not provide the same efficient service for stimulus payments. This experience has pushed me to explore alternative tax services like Jackson Hewitt, as I seek clarity and fair treatment. I hope to resolve these matters promptly, as word spreads quickly through social media channels. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Last year, the company misplaced all my tax information in the mail. I had to return to the office with my documents for them to resend it to the IRS. After about three months, the IRS finally received it. I struggled to reach anyone, and my calls went unanswered. Despite the delay being the company's fault, they charged the full amount for preparing my taxes. I was approved for a refund advance for the [redacted] tax year. This year, they used Meta Bank for the advance, which required contacting me before proceeding due to a fraud incident, but they failed to do so, resulting in a denial. I tried to address these issues with Chris Buttermore but received no response. The recent mishandling of our stimulus checks has left me extremely upset. I have decided not to use their services again. My name is Melissa F., and my new contact number is [redacted]. I am requesting a refund of the fees paid in [redacted] and [redacted] due to the errors made in two consecutive years.

Last year, I experienced a significant issue with your company misplacing my tax documents in the mail. I made a trip back to the office to resubmit everything to the IRS, causing a delay of approximately six months. Despite the inconvenience, no compensation or apology was provided for the trouble caused by your company. Communication was difficult as my calls were not returned. Despite this, you still charged me the full amount for your tax services even though your error caused the delay in processing my taxes. I applied for a refund advance for the **** tax year, but this year, your company routed through Meta Bank without contacting me as a victim of fraud beforehand. Consequently, my application was denied. Despite requesting to speak with Chris Buttermore about these ongoing issues, I never received a call back. The recent mishandling of our Stimulus checks has further exacerbated my frustration with your services. I, Melissa F., can be reached at ***-***-****. Kindly address the reimbursements for the tax services in **** and **** that I paid despite the errors on your end for two consecutive years.

I have been using Jackson Hewitt for my taxes every year, but this time there were mistakes on my State Refund documents. The location at Walmart in Lonoke, AR informed me about the errors, including the amount being backwards and an incorrect driver's license number. I was advised to collect the corrected state tax paperwork and send it myself. They assured me a $70.00 refund, but after almost two months, I have not received it. Additionally, the revenue office put my state taxes on hold because of missing paperwork for my disabled son. Despite paying for the worry-free guarantee, I am feeling frustrated and anxious about the situation.

We are determined to resolve this matter thoroughly. Our issue began when we applied for a holiday loan in December. I was included in my fiancé's application to explore the possibility of a larger offer. Despite being denied and receiving a Serve card, we returned to our local office once our W-2s arrived to file our taxes. We expressly requested my removal from the application due to concerns about a potential offset issue. The tax preparer hurried through our tax return and then informed us that they had no physical copies to provide but mentioned we could access them online. Later, when we tried to retrieve the documents online, we encountered problems. It was only when we needed our AGI for the stimulus payment that we discovered my dependent status was not removed from my fiancé's taxes, despite our clear instructions. This oversight by JH has resulted in a $1,[redacted] loss for me. We have considered involving an attorney, but we are first seeking resolution from JH to rectify their error.

I submitted my tax return back in March at one of your locations. The tax professional who prepared our taxes made mistakes, completed the form without consulting us, and sent it without showing us the final figures. We could have caught the errors if given the chance. After she presented our refund, we noticed a significant amount of unreported income due to her oversight. She mentioned being sick during our appointment. Despite our request for an amended return, she claimed she had never done one before. The refund we received was more than double of what we were expecting. When we found out about the errors, she advised us to wait for the IRS to contact us. We were unaware that we should have returned the excess money to avoid penalties. We have not heard from the IRS yet. We also raised concerns about the fee for this mishandled filing, and we believe we shouldn't have to pay the full amount considering the errors made by your agent. My wife and I are disappointed with the lack of customer service from your company in resolving these issues.

My daughter and I went to the Cherry Hill office to file her taxes. She had a W-2, one [redacted] statement, and three kids to claim, making it a simple filing. However, after two hours of attempts, there were computer issues, halting the process. We came back a few days later and once more encountered computer problems during the e-sign section, requiring another reboot. On our third visit, we finally managed to sign the documents. Three separate trips totaling five hours seems excessive for a $[redacted]+ charge. I believe a significant discount is warranted due to the inconvenience and service issues experienced at Jackson Hewitt.

I understand that mistakes happen, but it seems like it should not be too difficult to ensure that clients receive their $[redacted] stimulus payments promptly. I am hoping to receive my stimulus money by the end of February as I can't file my taxes until the end of January. I am worried that it will be March before I receive my refund. This delay is concerning, and if we cannot find a solution, I will consider filing my taxes with a different company. It's important to me that tax processes are efficient and timely.

I have reviewed all the previous messages concerning my issue. I have been a customer for 7 years. I encountered problems with my tax return this year. The professional responsible made an error by processing it as an amended refund instead of the correct method. Consequently, my refund was deleted. The IRS has confirmed this mistake and now the process needs to be redone, causing a further delay of up to 3 months. This situation is frustrating as it is not my error but that of your company. I am eager to receive the money owed to me promptly to cover both my tax refund and the missed stimulus payment. It would be appreciated if someone could contact me within the next hour to address this matter. Thank you.

I filed my taxes in Barstow, California back in February [redacted]. After waiting for months without receiving my return, I visited the office where I filed them. The person there repeatedly assured me to be patient, but I decided to contact the IRS myself. I discovered that there was an error with my taxes as one of the required documents was missing. I confronted the individual at the office, who seemed dismissive and suggested I handle it myself. After numerous attempts, I insisted that he rectify the mistake. Even after signing the necessary papers, my refund is still pending as it was processed as an amended return instead of a regular one, causing a delay. I recently spoke to an IRS representative who informed me that it will take time to resolve this issue. This situation has left me homeless, living in my car, and I urgently need my refund.

I visited the Claremore, Oklahoma office to inquire about the rapid refund service. I expressed my concerns about the cost and was assisted by a new tax preparer. After reviewing the paperwork, I was told I would receive a loan. However, the next day, I was informed that I was denied. Despite my clear communication, misunderstandings occurred, leading to a stressful two and a half hours of tax preparation. To make matters worse, I discovered that my son was incorrectly removed from my tax return last year, causing potential issues with the IRS. A district manager then yelled at me, causing further dissatisfaction. I have been a customer for over 20 years but have never experienced such treatment. I am considering filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and government agencies due to the misleading practices I encountered at the Claremore office.

Hello, my name is Christine Vinzant. My spouse, Christopher, and I had our [redacted] taxes completed by Mel at the Blaine, MN office. We recently discovered that there were errors in our tax return where we were owed a refund of $[redacted].00 instead of owing $[redacted].00 to the IRS as initially stated by Mel. Despite addressing this with the office and receiving a partial refund of $[redacted].00 for the preparation fees, we are seeking further reimbursement for the $[redacted].00 guarantee fee and the interest paid to the IRS over time. We are looking to escalate this matter beyond the manager we spoke with. If there are contacts at an executive level within the company who can assist us in resolving this issue and addressing our concerns, we would appreciate their information. Please reach out to us promptly. Thank you.

I recently discovered that my taxes for the past three years were never submitted to the IRS as I had believed. The owner's health issue caused them to lose my files, resulting in a delay. Despite multiple attempts to communicate with the staff and co-owner, the filing did not happen promptly. Consequently, I have faced IRS notices and challenges obtaining business loans due to the incomplete filings. I have taken the step to file a complaint with the IRS regarding the tax preparer's handling of my case. Unfortunately, my efforts to reach the office have been unsuccessful as calls go unanswered and the mailbox is full.

I went to one location last night to have my taxes prepared, and they asked me to go to another location to finish it today. The tax preparer informed me there was no restroom available while we waited. Midway through the process, she abruptly refused to complete our taxes. Despite our request for her to contact her supervisor, she claimed he was in New Jersey and declined to call. We were relying on this for Christmas, and now I'm stuck as this is the only open location in my area today. What should I do?

I recently had a negative experience with one of your representatives at the [redacted] LBJ Dallas Texas location. The representative, Kahlilah Baroh, asked for $[redacted] before starting work, became confrontational when I tried to discuss refund processing, and eventually told me to leave, using inappropriate language. I believe your office may have video footage of this incident. I am disappointed in the unprofessional behavior displayed and intend to share my experience on social media. Please contact me at [redacted]. I will be seeking a new tax service provider due to this experience. Thank you.

I worked with Robin Byers at Jackson Hewitt in Euclid, Des Moines, on May 9, [redacted]. Despite paying $[redacted] for tax services, Robin failed to complete my amended return, which she had informed me was done. I never signed any amended forms. Waiting for 9 months for my return, I contacted the IRS and discovered that my information was not in their system. Numerous attempts to reach Robin have proven futile, as she never returns my calls. I am considering contacting the Attorney General to report this issue. I am requesting a refund since I now have to pay someone else to correct my taxes. I will not return to Robin for her services. In my opinion, she has displayed unprofessional behavior. - Karen Pendry, Altoona, Iowa

On April 18, [redacted], I visited the Jackson Hewitt office at [redacted] NW 12th St, Moore OK. After a long wait, a tax preparer asked me to drop off my documents. I left my taxes with her and was told I'd be contacted when they were ready. However, I only received a text on April 19, [redacted], informing me that my taxes were done. When I drove to the Moore, OK location, it was unexpectedly closed early. I called another Jackson Hewitt in Walmart for help, and they suggested the office would be open on specific days. I returned on April 22, [redacted], but the office was still closed during operating hours. I am now seeking Jackson Hewitt's assistance in retrieving my tax forms.

I am still waiting since April 8th for the return of my taxes and for a return call for pick up, which has yet to happen. Dealing with Jackson Hewitt has caused extreme personal stress and anger. The service I have received has made me feel disrespected and contempt has been shown towards me. I have lost all faith in Jackson Hewitt. Despite visiting the office five times and speaking on the phone with staff who recognize my voice, I have not received any help. Messages left for MOE A have not been returned. I have even contacted Jackson Hewitt's main complaint line with no solution. As a senior and veteran, I expect to be treated with respect. This situation has caused me a lot of stress, and I am considering legal action if it is not resolved soon.

I used Jackson Hewitt to prepare my [redacted] taxes on February 5, [redacted], early because I needed the refund to move into a new home. By February 28th, I had not received my refund and discovered my last name was misspelled on the paperwork. I contacted the store manager, Dennis Lindsey, at the Spokane, WA location, but he was unhelpful and planned to contact the IRS the following Friday. After receiving a letter from the IRS (4833C) to verify my identity, I confirmed with them and learned my return was approved. The IRS mentioned it would take four weeks for the refund to reach my account. Although I wanted to file my [redacted] taxes, I had to wait for the [redacted] refund to pay the fees which means going through a similar identity verification process. Despite meeting with Dennis and escalating to district manager Jennifer Edgren, no progress was made. I am requesting Jackson Hewitt to provide me with an advance portion of my refund to help alleviate the financial strain caused by the delay and misspelling issue.
