Hello, I came across an Instagram account named "Rin" that seems to be inactive since [redacted]. I believe it's unfair that the account is not in use, and I am interested in acquiring the username. I wonder if there is a way to obtain this username since the account owner has been inactive for 10 years. I am curious to know if the account is still active or if it has been permanently deleted. Any advice on how to possibly claim this inactive username would be greatly appreciated.

My Instagram and Facebook accounts were deactivated over two months ago without any prior notice. I am unable to access my group chats, which is quite inconvenient. According to the terms and guidelines, accounts are only permanently deactivated if they "repeatedly" violate the rules. However, I have never had any issues in the past. I tried to appeal this decision, but unfortunately, I couldn't submit anything as there were "too few reviewers due to COVID-19".

Hello, As a teacher, I created an Instagram account for my classes during online teaching. My colleagues and I used group chats for communication, assuming that deleting the account would erase the chats. To our surprise, one of my colleagues informed me that students are still using the group chat inappropriately. After researching, I found out the chats must be deleted separately. Since the account is gone, I can't access or manage the group chats. Can Instagram support assist in deleting the group chats linked to the “hpod2020” account connected to my work email, [redacted]? Hello, I hope all is well. Recently, my account was disabled after working with an agency to help me grow as an influencer. Unfortunately, after the contract ended, the agency withheld the account and tampered with it before returning it. Just a day later, the account was disabled for reasons unrelated to our actions. Good morning, I received a message on my Instagram account this morning saying I had violated Instagram's policies by posting intellectual property, which I have never done. The message requested me to verify my account by providing my username, password, email, and password. I have reported numerous comments celebrating the increased rate of suicide in transgender individuals and providing tips on how to elevate it further. These actions go against your community guidelines, as they involve hate speech and promote suicide, both of which are explicitly mentioned as unacceptable behaviors on your platform. Despite my reports, I have received notifications indicating that no action will be taken. While I understand the volume of complaints you receive, all users deserve not to be exposed to such harmful content and encouragement. If Instagram claims to support its users, it should actively enforce this principle. Alternatively, if support is not provided, it should be transparently stated in the guidelines.

My Instagram account "dennycox1" was hacked. I managed to regain access but discovered my email and profile picture were changed by the hacker. They posted about Japan and Korea using a female profile picture. After reclaiming my email and profile, I removed the unauthorized posts. I also strengthened security by changing my password and setting up two-step verification. I was surprised that Instagram didn't inform me of the email change. Despite rectifying the situation and warning followers of the hacking incident, my account got suspended until August 18th for violating Community guidelines. I don't understand why this happened as I only shared about homemade Limoncello and the hacking incident. Without the hacker's email, I'm uncertain how to resolve this issue and unfreeze my account.

Hello, I need assistance with a situation that happened a couple of months ago. I was informed by an acquaintance that she was being harassed by someone wanting to buy her Instagram username (atabora). Although hesitant at first, she eventually decided to sell it due to the constant hassle. However, since she didn't have a PayPal account and faced payment limitations from Turkey to Honduras, she asked for my help in negotiating. After discussions, the potential buyer wanted to send payment via PayPal but requested a username change first. I advised against this due to potential risks. We suggested a half payment upfront and the remaining after the username transfer, but the buyer hesitated due to Instagram's cooldown period. Recently, a different Instagram account threatened to ban me unless I handed over the username. Despite my friend changing her username, the aggressive buyer proceeded to ban us both. We are not concerned about the money or username anymore; we simply want our accounts reinstated. Attempting to reach the buyer's boss yielded no success as he denied issuing a ban order. An attempt to appeal through Instagram's Help Center proved unsuccessful as my account was deemed invalid, leaving me unsure of the next steps to take.

Hello, I have encountered a frustrating issue with my Instagram account. A while back, my friend used my phone to log into her account, and then got jokingly reported. Consequently, Instagram flagged my phone's IP address, preventing me from creating new accounts or logging in. While I managed to access my main account using my phone number, I am still unable to make new accounts. I am reaching out to request assistance in having Instagram unblock my phone. In addition, when I first got Instagram in 5th grade, I used multiple email accounts, including my parents'. This has caused complications as I now wish to link my old accounts to my main one and use my real email address. Despite trying to update to my authentic email, I receive an error message suggesting it's already linked to another account. Hello, currently I am facing an issue where I got unexpectedly blocked on Facebook due to my age (I am 26 and provided my ID) and it has been resolved for some time now. Unfortunately, I am now also blocked on Instagram through Facebook and I am unable to proceed. No matter what I do for weeks, I keep getting error messages and I am unable to appeal. The regular Facebook support is not helping me, as they are providing irrelevant links that do not address the issue. Why does Facebook block me on Instagram, then unblock me on Facebook, but Instagram still remains inaccessible? Even when trying to sign into Instagram through Facebook, Instagram still claims I am under 13. However, I am able to create a new Instagram account with the same email and Facebook. Nonetheless, I do not want to do that; I want my old account back. Regards

Losing it due to a brief hacker intrusion feels unjust, especially considering the impact on my business. Creating a new account is not ideal due to the unavailable username, hundreds of followers, and years of content that establish my business's credibility. My Instagram account remains suspended, even after I kept receiving repetitive advertisements on Facebook. I investigated the issue to understand why I was targeted with these ads repeatedly. It turns out, one of the reasons cited was my supposed age range, which led me to check my account details. I mistakenly entered my birth year as [redacted], realizing later that users must be at least 13 years old to have accounts on both platforms. Consequently, my account was suspended. I am, in fact, 58 years old and I have provided my Driver's License to Facebook to confirm this. While my Facebook account has been reinstated, I am still unable to access my Instagram account. My Instagram account has been disabled due to what seems like a misunderstanding. After changing my password, I might have missed entering the code to prove I'm not a bot. I haven't received any explanation email from Instagram for the disablement. I've attempted to submit an appeal via the mobile app, but it keeps saying I've entered the URL incorrectly. Despite trying various options following their instructions, I haven't had any success. I encountered an issue while attempting to link an app to my Instagram account. Due to two-factor authentication, I needed a security code that I couldn't retrieve as the app providing the code was deleted. Consequently, I've been unable to access my Instagram account for two days. After reaching out to Instagram for assistance, I was asked to submit a photo of myself with the code they provided, along with my full name and username. Despite providing this, Instagram informed me they couldn't verify my ownership and requested further information such as my email, phone number, and device type. I complied with their request, but they still couldn't verify my account ownership and requested the same information again. I have resubmitted the details and am currently awaiting a response.
