I have not received my first or second stimulus checks. I filed a tax return to claim them using the rebate recovery. My tax return was filed on February 15 through Tax Free USA. I submitted it electronically on February 17. Afterward, I received an acceptance letter from Tax Free USA confirming my information, including my social security number, address, and bank account details for direct deposit. I also received a copy of my [redacted] form, where I noticed that the bank account information differed from what I provided. My wife and I have had custody of our granddaughter for 5 years, since her birth. Recently, her mother re-entered her life, and we have agreed through our attorneys and the court system (by court order) that we can each claim the child as a dependent in alternate years. I claimed her for the [redacted] tax year. The mother is now attempting to receive the upcoming tax credit payment scheduled for July. My question is, do I need to complete Form [redacted] to release the exemption on our granddaughter so that her mother can claim the child tax payment? I did not plan on claiming that advanced tax payment for our granddaughter since it's the mother's tax year. I am feeling pressured, and I want to ensure I am not doing anything unlawful. Hello, I am Lisa B. On February 9, [redacted], I submitted [redacted] taxes for my daughter, E.R., who is currently incarcerated in Rockville Correctional Center, Indiana. I accidentally sent the power of attorney form to the wrong address. Instead of Cincinnati, OH, I mistakenly sent it to Fresno, CA 93[redacted]. I represent a foreign citizen who sold a condominium on July 18, [redacted]. Due to not having an EIN, $[redacted],[redacted] was withheld and sent to the IRS. The CPA filed a Non-Resident Alien Income Tax Return with "Applied for" noted under TIN and applied for a TIN. However, there has been no response from the IRS regarding the withheld amount. A Request for Taxpayer Advocate Service Assistance was faxed a month ago with no follow-up. It has been challenging to obtain information electronically or by phone due to the TIN requirement.

Hello, I filed my [redacted] taxes and included my son, but we never received any stimulus payments, not for the first, second, or third rounds. I didn't amend the return. I've contacted the IRS, and they advised me to file my [redacted] tax return to claim the stimulus money for my son. However, we still haven't received anything. I have been waiting for my refund for over three months, and I am confused about the delay. I used TurboTax to file my federal taxes on 5/15/21. I was informed that my tax return would be mailed around 6/7/21. However, today I received a letter from the IRS (5071C) saying I need to do an identity verification. I tried calling (no one available) or visiting the website, but it asks for proof of a student loan, mortgage, or credit card - none of which I have. This is my first time filing taxes after being in and out of jail for 10 years. I'm worried about this situation and need assistance to receive my $[redacted] tax return. I encountered an issue with my 4th stimulus check being deposited into a bank account with the last 4 digits that I do not recognize. The IRS website lists the ending 4 digits as [redacted], which is different from the actual last 4 digits of my Direct Express card, which are [redacted]. I kindly request immediate assistance to rectify this error because I only agreed to have the $[redacted] direct deposited into my Direct Express card on May 7th. I'm expecting prompt resolution and the deposit of the funds to my account by June 29th or sooner. In September [redacted], we inquired about a missing stimulus check, only to discover an outstanding balance was due. We were unaware of this issue previously. A payment plan was established for a [redacted] tax matter, with monthly payments consistently made. Recently, we received another IRS notice regarding the same issue but with a different reference number. We have been addressing and paying towards a single outstanding issue each month. I was incarcerated in [redacted] and recently released in May [redacted]. Due to my situation, I couldn't file my [redacted] tax returns on time. I know about the 3-year deadline to claim a refund unless there's a valid reason for the delay, which being in prison qualifies as. Can I still file and receive my refund? I received confirmation from the IRS that both my State and Federal returns were accepted. When checking the IRS refund status, I was informed that my refund is still in process and to await further notification. Checking today, June 14, [redacted], it now states to allow 21 days for the deposit. I am uncertain if my claim is accepted or still processing. I believe the website should provide more details instead of the same message for the past 3 months. I have attempted to contact them by phone, but it is not possible at the moment. I sent my federal and state taxes for [redacted] and [redacted] in late February [redacted]. They were prepared using TurboTax but got rejected due to an AGI error, which I fixed when I filed my [redacted] returns. I expected refunds for both years.
