Thank you for encouraging detail. That is my tendency.**I have two Hunter Model ***** ceiling fans. One of them developed a problem with the lighting level (very dim). I figured that what was controlling the light level was the receiver. As the problem fan was in a place of greater use, I decided to test my theory by switching the receiver from the good unit into the dim one. I also switched the remote controllers. That solved the problem.**However, this was not a full solution, obviously. The second fan was now totally inoperable. So I purchased a receiver that looked exactly like the one in the fans (the *****) from Amazon. The unit came and is exactly like the other two I had. The model number ***** does not show anywhere on any of the three receivers. What does show up on all of them is “Intertek *******”. Only the packaging of the new one had model *****. I had the same experience with my washer repair. Why are companies doing that (selling under a model not written on the part)? Makes no sense to me.**Now here is the problem... No matter what it is that the fan manual says about pairing of the remote control that came with the fan and the receiver, it does not work. I can not retrain either of the remotes with either of the receivers. Apparently, only the receiver*remote that came with the fans work together. This means that the new receiver I bought is useless unless it pairs.**Now, the online sales information of the ***** says that the unit works with the ***** device and an IOS or android app (SimpleConnect) that will turn the fan into a Wi-Fi device. I have my remotes (SW:V****) that came with my fans. There was nothing about a ***** when I bought the fans and I don’t feel I need to spend an additional $** (for the *****) to try to make my fan work. I don’t even trust that unit will make the fan work. The pairing procedure does not work so I don’t have that much hope the fan will work with the phone app. Besides, the phone is less convenient than the remote. Quick connection is not guaranteed. Launching the app just to turn on a light is not convenient either. The remote works every time and quickly when properly paired.**The pairing procedure in the manual calls for turning the wall switch off and on and then hold the fan on*off switch on the remote with the max button (up arrow) for * sec within * minutes. I have done this many times against both fans. I have also done others where the fan and light buttons are held * seconds. Nothing.**How do I want this resolved...Get some directions for pairing of the remotes and the receivers that actually work.**Any help is appreciated,**Emilio Banos Jr
