Called Advantage several days during rental period to switch out cars but to no avail ... Booked on Hotwire and picked up rental car **** at airport @**:**pm. I was told the only car they had was a Jeep. After a week’s rental, the gas alone ended up costing $**.**. My weekly Hotwire car reservation allowed me to get a discounted rate of $**.** a day but it wasn’t much of a discount in the end. I’ve never had a problem with Hotwire and the car companies they select for me. I rented cars for business *x a year for ** years now, as well as *-* family vacations a year, normally I’m given an economy or compact car but this was the first time I was given a suv*van*large type car which I did not select. I would like to be told in advance if I am getting a large type car, especially a Jeep, so I can cancel my reservation. I am a *’*” female and getting in and out of the Jeep was a hassle, no reversable rear camera so backing out was a constant problem, and just big overall for me.
I rent *-* times a year and usually recommend Hotwire and rentals (car*hotel* etc) I’ve had good experiences with. My job allows me to deal with **,*** * customers*staff who favors my opinion about good restaurants*hotels*cars.
I would like a friendly reminder if car I’m requesting is not available so I can change or cancel my reservation. Not having the type of car requested, I can live with it. But the problem was the car I was given did not have power windows, power locks ( no remote), each door and trunk had to be manually locked and closed then reopen with key to get in. No rear view backing camera so reversing for a *’*” female was difficult.
I’ve been satisfied with Hotwire and its service for over ** years and my family and friends trust my opinion because I rent cars and travel a lot.
