I recently arranged for house cleaning services through Home Advisor and paid using my credit card as instructed. When the cleaner's daughter arrived, she claimed the amount was insufficient and mentioned a company called Handy, which I had no prior knowledge of. After contacting Home Advisor, they assured me my account was credited. Despite paying the cleaner a different amount, she failed to complete the job during three visits. To make matters worse, she stole two blank checks from my checkbook, forged them for $[redacted].00 and $[redacted].00 respectively, and cashed them. I demanded a refund of $[redacted].00, plus an additional $[redacted].00 for the ordeal I've endured dealing with both companies. Although I was promised a response within 60 minutes after an email I sent on Friday, I have yet to hear back via email or phone and have been unable to speak with a live representative. I have set a deadline of Wednesday, March 10, [redacted], at 12:00 PM for both companies to resolve this matter.

I am experiencing an issue with my credit card billing. I was assured by Home Advisor that my card would not be charged until the job's completion on May 17th. Unfortunately, my card was actually charged today. I consider this situation to be fraudulent. I will be reporting this matter to the appropriate federal agency. I demand an immediate refund. I do not authorize Home Advisor to hold my payment for future projects as there will be none. I am prepared to seek legal counsel if necessary, and I am already in touch with my attorney regarding this matter. I will not be using Home Advisor or Angie's List in the future. I used to view your company as reputable, but now I see you as engaging in fraudulent activities. The only acceptable resolution to this issue is a prompt refund of my money.

On December 3, [redacted], I hired Gary L Soukup from GLS Home Improvement & Repairs after he was referred to me through Home Adviser. Soukup provided an estimate of $[redacted] for the repairs needed at my home. He requested $[redacted] upfront for materials and promised to start the work promptly. However, he failed to complete the job as agreed, did not respond to my messages or calls, and did not return the money I paid him. I have tried to find his contact information without success. I discovered that his phone is registered under a different name in NC. I am seeking assistance to track him down as I intend to take legal action to recover my funds and prevent others from falling victim to his deceitful practices. I am trying, for the second time, to find an electrician in my area through Home Advisor. On 12-14-21, I had scheduled an appointment for the installation of two exterior wall sconces on my garage with Maky R. However, I received an email cancelling the appointment from Home Advisor, and though they assured me another electrician would arrive, no one showed up, leading me to cancel the order. A new appointment for 1-14-22 at 3:00pm was set with Maky R. On the day, Maky R. informed me he was an hour away and inquired about the necessary materials for the job. Due to the late hour and lack of wiring, we agreed he would purchase the items and I would reimburse him upon arrival. He was supposed to contact me the week of 1-17-22 for a new appointment, but I am yet to hear from him. The repeated delays and lack of communication from both the electrician and Home Advisor have left me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. I now wish to cancel the entire job.

I had a contractor from HomeAdvisor come to fix my leaking roof. He applied some temporary solution and claimed the leak was resolved, charging me $[redacted] initially. After I raised concerns about the short visit, they reduced the cost by $[redacted]. Upon receiving his contact details, I realized he is a lawn care provider, not a roofing specialist as I had assumed. Despite trying to address the ongoing issue with HomeAdvisor without success, I continue to struggle with the leak. Each time I contact them, I am met with a series of transfers and disconnections, leaving me frustrated. I am seeking a refund for the unresolved roof problem. As my insurance company hesitates due to HomeAdvisor's lack of cooperation, I now urgently need a proper roofer. The situation has become overwhelming, and I hope for a resolution soon.

I recently hired Clark Construction on 3/2/[redacted] to build a screen porch. Boe Grubb from On Point Roofing initially quoted me $3,[redacted], but the final contract was agreed upon at $4,[redacted] after some negotiation. I paid Boe $1,[redacted] in cash on 3/3/[redacted] and requested a receipt, which I have not received yet. Mr. Clark assured me that things would be handled correctly moving forward, so I then paid $[redacted] in cash and wrote a check for $[redacted] on 3/7/[redacted], but I still lack proper documentation for the cash transactions. They are requesting an additional $2,[redacted] when I believe I only owe $[redacted]. I also spent $1,[redacted] on extra supplies from Lowe's, and the project is only 50% complete. I have more details to share to see if anyone can assist me.

I received a referral to American Plumbing and Drain Services from Home Advisor powered by Angi to clean my kitchen drain on May 4, [redacted]. After initial unsuccessful service by Jason on May 5, the owner, Chris McClarhan, suggested additional work totaling $[redacted].50. Despite promises to complete the job on multiple dates in May, they have failed to show up. I have reached out to Home Advisor for assistance and Heather Urban was assigned to my case. However, after multiple attempts to schedule a call, both with Heather and the service provider, the issue remains unresolved. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Home Advisors. I registered weeks ago to have a storage building underpinned. I specifically requested assistance in picking up a piece of lattice for the job. A date of August 28 was scheduled for completion, with Marcus Webster being assigned to the task. After arranging for the job to be done on August 30 to coincide with the business hours for picking up the lattice, nobody arrived by 2pm. I discovered through text messages that someone else had supposedly done the job without ever showing up. This mix-up is unacceptable, and I demand a refund of the $29.95 paid to Angi for this poorly executed service. The lack of communication and professionalism displayed throughout this experience has been frustrating, and I now plan to seek alternative handymen for the job.

I recently had my washing machine cleaned by a technician from Angi on October 29. Unfortunately, after the service, my machine started leaking water during wash cycles, creating a mess in my laundry and utility rooms. Despite several follow-up visits, the issue persisted due to an overlooked tube that wasn't properly reinserted during the initial cleaning. The final repairman advised additional repairs for damaged wires, quoting an extra $[redacted], which I declined as the machine was working fine before the cleaning. He expressed concerns about potential safety hazards. Feeling uneasy about the situation, I have replaced the washing machine at a cost of $[redacted]. Query about Booking and Charges Clarification: Dear Support Team, I came across the statement in your email mentioning, "Inside of 2 hours the full booking amount is charged." I seek clarity on whether this charge occurs 2 hours after the task starts, 2 hours prior to the scheduled time, or immediately on reaching the booking time. Furthermore, in a situation where the professional arrives as scheduled, provides an estimate for materials which is deemed too costly, and consequently does not proceed with the job, will the full booking amount still be applicable for the professional's visit? In the event that no actual work is completed, only an estimate is given by the professional before leaving, could the refund be issued in full with a potential deduction of a $25 fee perhaps? I scheduled an Anji Pro cleaner for March 6 at 12:34, but I now need to cancel due to a rescheduled surgery. Please cancel my appointment and remove all credit card information. I will book again later. I was assured no fee would be charged for canceling within 48 hours. I've been unable to reach anyone by phone. On October 5, [redacted], I scheduled a mirror hanging service through HomeAdvisor online. I got a confirmation email with the booking ID #[redacted]9 for a service on October 6 between 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, the handyman didn't arrive, and my attempts to contact HomeAdvisor went unanswered. Later, Laura from HomeAdvisor reached out regarding a poor rating I gave them, taking responsibility for the issue without explaining. She suggested using their chat feature, but it was unhelpful. Despite my efforts to reach out to Laura, I have not received a response.
