The issue in GetHuman-leomelan's own words
Hello, *My name is Melanie. This isn't exactly a complaint. I am actually a former associate at The Home Depot. I work at store *****(Waynesboro, Virginia). I work part-time in the paint department and absolutely love what it is I do! I've been with The Home Depot for almost eight months now and at some point I plan on becoming full time this year!**My reasoning for message is to help out another fellow associate at The Home Depot. He's not only a co-worker, but also a friend. He loves his job first of all and is dedicated to it. His name is Richard but we call him R.J. for short. He works full time in the lumber department. He is an extremely dependable worker. He operates all machinery. He makes sure that customer are assured that each time they come back to The Home Depot satisfactory will be guaranteed. He receives many Bravos and great customer reviews on a weekly basis. Richard is concerned about his hourly pay. He currently makes $** per hour, which is good but he feels that based upon his work ethics, skills, and production he deserves an increase in pay. Please note that no one including him knows I am e-mailing you, so I wish to remain anonymous if at all possible. I do not want to see anything bad happen to Richard. He has approached management at our store about this, but was never granted his wish. He gave up, but I am e-mailing to see that something is done. Richard is not upset based upon management's decision. In fact, he respects it. Richard is only ** years old and you would be surprised at how hard working he is. He is not money hungry or unappreciative. He just feels that his hourly pay should be increased. Again, Richard does not know about this. This was all my idea. I e-mailed Frank Blake this morning at *:** a.m. but learned that he's no longer with The Home Depot. He told me that he would reach out to you all, but I just want to press the issue and make sure my voice is heard. Richard is a single parent of a * year old and is trying to get his life together for his son's sake. This would mean a lot to him. He isn't demanding a substantial raise. He is just trying to get ahead and feels based upon his hard work... I know there are many many hard working employees that work for The Home Depot nationwide, but if this weren't Richard's case I wouldn't be going through all of this trouble. He represents The Home Depot and keeps customers coming back to the store due to his friendly, helpful, excellent service. I know I am just a part-time employee, but I hope and pray my request is taken into consideration. Please, help him better himself and get ahead. Richard loves his job and this increase in pay would really mean a lot to him. He and I would be forever thankful. Whoever I am speaking to, thank you for taking the time out to read this and enjoy your day.
