Good morning,*Regarding rental H***********The vehicle I reserved was unavailable at the appointment time (**:**pm), in fact there were NO vehicles available for rental. I was told I was the first on the list & would receive a call when a vehicle was available. By *:**pm I didn't hear anything so I called and was told there's a minivan for me. I went to pick it up and discovered that the front tires were almost bald and that the only other available vehicle had the same problem. I had no choice but to take this minivan since I needed to be on the road at *am the next morning. When I came back home that evening I called Hertz customer service, explained the problem and asked if I could swap out the minivan in Ocala since it was on my way. Your agent assured me that this would be fine and that he'd make a note on my account. When I showed up the next morning in Ocala, the agent had no idea that I was coming and the only vehicle available was a Nissan Versa. I'm *'*" and had another ** hours to drive along with a fair amount of personal belongings that we were bring up to our daughter and her family in Greensboro, NC. The Ocala agent said that I had called the wrong dept, told me which one to call (roadside assistance) and the woman I spoke with was annoyed at my request to call around to find another suitable vehicle. The problem was that we were driving into a major rainstorm and bald tires would not be safe to say the least. Roadside assistance provided no help whatsoever. I went back to the Ocala agent who said he'd spoken with an agent at The Villages in FL and they have a Kia Sedona with good tires. I greatly appreciated his help, although The Villages is ** minutes in the wrong direction. We got there, the agent was most helpful and I appreciated all that he was dealing with. We liked the Kia and enjoyed the ride until the heavier rain started. The front and rear windshield wipers were in very bad shape and made it extremely difficult to see. What is normally a ** hour drive turned into a ** hour drive. My wife and I were grateful to have arrived at our daughter's home safely. We returned the minivan to Hertz at GSO a day early. Your system didn't show any available rentals for Thursday to Saturday, only Thursday to Sunday.*Your phone employees left a great deal to be desired. Your desk agents were outstanding. The fact that Hertz would allow * such unsafe vehicles on the road does not speak well of your standards.*Sincerely,*Bob Nahm
