Help with my Hearst Magazines issue
The issue in GetHuman1473431's own words
I am a Canadian subscriber to Harper's Bazaar (account **********). I received a renewal invoice from a Canadian address (Markham Ontario) for $**, and paid online with my credit card. A Canadian invoice should be Canadian currency. When I got the credit card statement from my bank, you had converted the amount to US dollars, which is at least **% higher in price. It is NOT RIGHT to send a Canadian invoice and not tell us that the price is in US dollars. This looks like a scam to get more money. You need to specify the currency ON THE INVOICE, and not upset your Canadian subscribers by surprising us with a big price increase. I have seen other complaints like this posted online. CANADIAN INVOICES ARE AUTOMATICALLY IN CANADIAN DOLLARS UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE. Please inform your accounts receivable department. I have complained both to my credit card and Hearst Magazines customer service.
GetHuman1473431 did not yet indicate what Hearst Magazines should do to make this right.
I have an issue with Hearst Magazines too
How GetHuman1473431 fixed the problem
I called my credit card customer service to cancel the US currency exchange rate which saved me $**. Then I spoke to Hearst customer service and complained that they are scamming Canadian customers by sending us Canadian invoices (which are automatically Canadian currency), but then putting the payment through our credit cards in US currency. The agent apologized and said she would give me an extra year for free (* years for the price of one). BUT she did not say that Hearst magazines would stop the practice of converting to US dollars. I told her that they MUST specify the currency on their invoices to Canadians.
