I took my Electroglide Ultra Classic in for its *K oil change last week. The service department called me and stated that the bike had an oil leak. The bike is three years old with only five thousand miles. How could it have an oil leak? I went to the service dept. the next day to see it for myself. The mechanic told me that it's a known issue with Harley- Davidson. That tells me that it's a known defect. He also tole me that the defect has been resolved with the new part that he was going to install, which is the transmission case. The dealer got in touch with the company, and they stated that they would cover the cost of the parts, but not the labor. My question is, if the part is defective, shouldn't parts and labor be covered? Why should I have to pay any part of that repair? It just doesn't seem fair to me.
