Hampton Bay **” ceiling fan*Model: **-ATR*Vendor No: ******UPC: *************Date Purchased: Oct, *****Purchased: Home Depot, Kohler, WI*Fan is connected to on*off switch on wall*History:*Started having problems beginning of July, ****. Fan would run for a while, then would stop. *Replaced battery in remote but continued to have same problems (remote would not change speeds nor would go in reverse).*Have tried to reset the fan remote – no changes.*Have tried to pair the fan with remote – no changes.*Called Hampton Bay Customer Service (*-***-***-****) on July **, ****:*Shiguematsu C.*The Home Depot - Customer Care*Resolution Expediter - Private Brands*She identified the problem as either a receiver or capacitor issue based on my explanation. A new capacitor was ordered at that time.*I received the new capacitor on July ** and immediately replaced the old capacitor with the new. When I turned the power on and clicked on the medium speed on the remote. The fan worked for about one minute then stopped. I flipped the on*off switch on the wall and pressed the high button on the remote but the fan worked again for about a minute and then stopped. I could hear a slight groan or clunking noise right before the fan stopped. So I flipped the wall switch on*off one more time and watched the fan as it ran on high. As the blades rotated one revolution and that point I could hear the groan or clunking sound and after about * minutes the fan stopped running.*Once more I flipped the on*off wall switch and pressed the low button on the remote. The fan seams to run on this speed. I ran the fan on low for over * hours without a problem. But once in awhile I can still hear a faint groan as the fan rotates. *QUESTION: What could the problem be and what do I need to do to fix it? We like the fan and how it looks in our *-seasons room (when it works!). We’ve had no problems with it for almost ** years, but now are experiencing fan stoppage. What can we do?
