ON ****** I bought a *** Cartridge for my HP Deskjet Printer at the local Stationery shop. After opening the packaging, I took out the finished cartridge and rreplaced it with the genuine cartridge i had bought. when the printer requested alignment, I took the steps as usual, but the printout was half the page and fuzzy, not clear. So, I did it again and again * times, without any relief. The printer kept informing me to align the cartridge. **Since, the shop told me to get my printer checked, I took it with the cartridge and some of the half page fuzzy printouts, to a local printer centre. They examined the printer and said it was fine, but the cartridge though genuine was defective. I had to buy another genuine *** cartridge from them and they demonstrated that the fresh cartridge printed without fuzz and for a full page. **I went to the local stationers and asked for a replacement or refund of the defective cartridge, purchased from them. They said I should take it to a HP Service Centre for that. They recommended one at Sec. ** Noida, U.P. India. So, at age ** I was forced to contact not just the HP Servie Centre in G Block, Sec. **, but also at Jaipuria Plaza, Sec. **, A Block, Sec.**, and one at Sec. **, in Noida. All of them evinced interest in a laptop or printer, but passed me on to another Centre on hearing it was only a printer cartridge. Eventually, I was given the **** Customer Care toll free number, which also heard me out, and then said I would get a call from someone near me. *Yesterday, I got a call from a Gaurav Tomar, who sent a very polite man called Sandip to my residence this morning. He heard me out, then snapped shots of the Bill, the cartridge, its packaging, and two of the half page fuzzy printouts, and promised he would try but said probably he would not be able to get it replaced or refunded. He requested me to try HP Support on my computer, which I have now done. **Now I know why so many people specially the young use cheap re-filled cartridges instead of the original ones which old people like us tend to do. It is easier to throw away a defective re-filled cartridge, rather than spending over * times the amount to buy a new original cartridge and find it defective. I must say however, that this is the first original cartridge I have bought which was found demonstrably defective. **Have you no alternative and speedy procedure to get such defective cartridges replace or refunded as fast as possible, to encourage the purchasing of orignal cartridges and thereby discourage the use of re-fills. Also, lowering the price to be competetive with re-fills would discourage such practices. **Please help a Senoir Citizen as soon as possible.
