Good Afternoon, I'm a recent American expat now living in Taiwan since March 29th, [redacted]. After filing my [redacted] taxes, I've realized the complexity of reporting foreign assets. I'm uncertain about my tax obligations here and how much I need to pay, with an estimated monthly income of $[redacted] USD or 90,[redacted] NTD. Planning to reside here for a few years, I am aware of the tax rate cutoff dates (around [redacted] days for the US and [redacted] days for Taiwan). I've used H&R Block for my taxes since [redacted] and have always been satisfied with their service. Any advice on taxes in this situation would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, N. Burnell

Hello, my name is Mohamed. My wife and I filed our taxes at an H&R Block branch in early March. We recently discovered that the agent who assisted us entered the wrong zip code on our file, leading to us not receiving our stimulus check. Despite returning to the branch a month ago to address the issue with the same agent, we were informed that there was little that could be done, especially since the IRS phone number provided was not operational. We were advised to fill out a form and mail it to the IRS, which we did, but have been waiting since then without any resolution. This has been a challenging time for us as we are unemployed and relying on these funds to cover our expenses. I sincerely appreciate any assistance you can provide and hope to receive a prompt response. Thank you.

I have owned rental properties and my own home for years. I recently discovered that in [redacted], there were no deductions taken for property taxes, homeowners insurance, charitable gifts, or gifts to charity, which have been deductible for many years. My first concern is why these deductions were not included in [redacted]. Additionally, shouldn't H&R Block have noticed this major change from previous years and inquired about the missing paperwork? I recall bringing all my documents to the appointment as I still have them in my file. I sought H&R Block's services in the hopes of having a professional oversee my tax situation with my best interests in mind, and I am disappointed by this oversight. Sincerely, Brady P.

1. I recently had my [redacted] taxes prepared by a senior tax professional. Although I was informed that my tax form was available in my account, I am unable to view it or the documents I submitted. I am happy to pay for the services rendered, but I need to review the form to sign and make the payment. 2. I spoke to another tax representative regarding this issue, and although I was told I would be on hold for around 2 minutes, I ended up waiting over an hour. The estimated wait time kept fluctuating between 60 and 50 minutes, never dropping below 50 minutes even after waiting for one hour and 20 minutes. I am seeking a resolution to this back-and-forth situation so that I can access and review my [redacted] tax form promptly.

My spouse and I received an Emerald Card with our tax refund in [redacted], but the account is now closed. We visited a local branch to get a new card to receive our stimulus payment. The payment shows on our updated card with a balance of $1,[redacted], but we are unable to use the card due to a block. It has been inconvenient and embarrassing to have our card declined unexpectedly. I am seeking assistance to unlock the card promptly. I attempted to contact the call center, but they are closed until 7 a.m. Central Time. It would be helpful if there was a number available for customers to verify purchases and unblock their cards when necessary.

I have been a loyal customer of HR Block for many years, receiving a 10% discount coupon from the company. Due to the current situation, my local Smithtown office was closed as all employees were sick. I finally had a one-on-one appointment last Tuesday, June 9, and Charles K. mentioned that the coupon would not be honored. I was taken aback and decided to take my paperwork back since I wouldn't be able to use the coupon. I have yet to receive a call back regarding my taxes as of June 11. It is disappointing that the service was not up to par, especially given the circumstances. I tried calling numerous times with no answer and when I did get through, I was put on hold for almost 8 minutes with a very irritating short tune playing in the background. Moving forward, I may consider going to a local tax service instead of continuing with HR Block.

I purchased your [redacted] Federal and State (Iowa) tax software from a CD you provided, which offered various tax programs. Due to a Windows reinstallation, I lost the software. I am looking to reinstall the [redacted] Tax program. I have an email from H&R Block confirming my purchase and providing an activation code (EN9U-Z4N4) and an unlock code (e8f23c4bc2aa). When attempting to reinstall, I am prompted to pay $44.95, despite already purchasing the software. I need assistance with this issue.

Upon wrapping up my Federal return, I encountered a message stating there was an issue with the real estate disposition. A button labeled "FIX ISSUE" was provided with a message indicating it would direct me to where I can address the problem. Regrettably, clicking the button had no effect even though all pop-up blockers were disabled. I have diligently inputted the cost basis, selling price, expenses of sale, and depreciation, as these were the only figures requested for this straightforward sale. It seems that sections [redacted] and [redacted] were not pertinent to this particular transaction.

During tax season, I visited H&R Block twice at [redacted] Woodland Square Loop SE C1 Ste [redacted], Lacey, WA. In Washington State, there is a mask mandate due to Covid cases, and there are signs at the office stating masks are required. However, I noticed an employee named Bonita Basara, MBA, Team Leader Tax Analyst, was not wearing a mask and expressed negative views towards it to a client. This is concerning because she is not only breaking the law but is at high risk for Covid. It would be best if she is educated on mask-wearing or not employed there to prevent the spread of the virus. I hope this matter can be addressed promptly. Thank you.

I have submitted my state (California) and federal taxes online via H&R Block, but I am unable to track my refund status on the IRS's website. I mailed the tax files, including a money order for state taxes, as I couldn't find last year's forms. I am concerned about whether the IRS received my taxes and if I need to refile. Despite filing in March, I have not received my refund or any IRS correspondence, opting for direct deposit into my checking account. I appreciate any assistance as I have been unable to reach a live person at the IRS, and the automated system couldn't provide refund details.

While trying to download and install the necessary State tax programs, I encountered issues that required additional authorization. Following instructions from the HR Block website, I attempted to modify the MSConfig file, a task that experts advise against due to the potential for system instability. Unfortunately, after restarting my PC as instructed, I found myself unable to access the MSConfig file and consequently experienced difficulties restarting services. Regrettably, this has also affected my work VPN, preventing me from connecting to my work network. Despite reaching out for help, my call has been on hold for 45 minutes, leading to a frustrating experience of being passed around from one representative to another.

I purchased a program online and received a USB instead of a DVD. My credit card was charged, and I got an email with purchase details but couldn't find a way to download the program. Clicking the download link only led to an image file. Despite attempting to request a new email six times, I haven't received one. There seems to be no direct download option on the website either. Every time I try using the USB, I'm prompted to buy another copy. My credit card company confirmed the charge, and the activation code is V9T8-TGB7. I have an unlock code but still need assistance with downloading the file. Thank you. - B. A.

I successfully e-filed my federal tax form, but I encountered issues with my California state tax return. The message indicates that I can't e-file because it contains Form [redacted], even though I am not filing that form but rather Form [redacted]. I suspect there might be a glitch. According to the California Tax Board website, both Form [redacted] and Form [redacted] should be eligible for e-filing, which adds to my confusion. Additionally, even if I have to mail in my California form, I can't do so because the final 4 pages display a "DO NOT FILE" message despite the IRS approving my e-file. These obstacles are preventing me from submitting my California form online or by mail. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

I submitted my tax return at an H&R Block office on Kadena Air Force Base, Japan on April 15, [redacted]. Recently, I checked my bank account for my tax refund but did not find it. I attempted to track my refund on both H&R Block and IRS websites but had no luck in locating it. I'm uncertain whether the refund was sent electronically or by mail. I filed jointly and applied for an ITIN for my Japanese wife at the temporary office during tax season. I would appreciate an update on the status of my tax refund to determine if I need to take additional steps regarding my taxes.

I was a first-time customer yesterday (Tues., 7/14/20) when I used your "Deluxe Online" service for my taxes. I also added the "Assist" option, but it only worked once. Unfortunately, I had more questions but couldn't get the "chat/assist" function to work at all. I attempted to contact you by calling the numbers 1-[redacted] and 1-[redacted] multiple times throughout the day. While I managed to input my tax data eventually, I had to seek answers from various websites instead of using the H&R Block "Assist" feature. I haven't submitted my taxes to the IRS or State yet because it prompts me to pay. I believe I shouldn't be charged for the "Assist" option. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. - R. Mauno [redacted] [redacted]

I have been using H&R Block's online service for years without any issues, but this year I encountered a problem. When I entered my W-2 information, my salary doubled each time. I worked in RI at the beginning of the year, then in CT while still being a RI resident. I have one W-2 from RI and two from CT. The system is doubling my income and taxes owed. How can I get a refund from one state if I must pay in another? Most of my income was earned in CT. How can I correctly handle this on your website? I am eager to use your service but need guidance. Can someone please help me through the steps or call me at [redacted]? Please assist with the correct steps or arrange a call. Thank you. Sincerely, Wieslaw Gadomski

I signed up for the digital assistant service and was charged $[redacted] (plus additional fees for the state portion). Despite three attempts on the 15th to contact the digital assistant, I was unable to speak to anyone, thus receiving no service despite the charge. The invoice during my tax filing on the 15th was unclear, making it challenging to dispute the digital assistant charge. Customer service has been unresponsive, leading me to seek a refund as I received no value for the payment. Multiple calls over three days with wait times exceeding 15 minutes have not yielded any resolution. If no response is received within 24 hours, I will request my credit card company to stop payment.

Subject: Urgent Request for Attention Regarding Tax Filing Issue Good morning, I am reaching out as all attempts to contact H&R Block by phone have been unsuccessful. We dropped off our taxes at the Raleigh location on July 10th and have not received any updates despite multiple attempts to reach out. This has led to us being delinquent in filing our [redacted] taxes. Customer service has been ineffective, and we have not received any callbacks as promised. The lack of response is concerning, especially given the financial implications for us. We urge for immediate attention and a reimbursement for any late filing fees. The inability to speak with someone directly in over 10 days is unacceptable. We look forward to your prompt response. Thank you, S. Lane Raleigh, NC

I recently experienced a computer crash and lost my HR Block Software. Unfortunately, after repairing the computer, I couldn't reload the software and now I can't access my tax returns. I need to file an amended return but without the software, it's impossible to view the original return. I don't believe I should have to purchase another copy of the software since I've already paid for it once. How can I obtain a copy of the software to view my tax returns? I have already filed, I just need to amend my return.

I submitted my taxes using H&R Block e-filing a few weeks back, but I am unsure if they will be accepted. I am an American residing in Japan and noticed a discrepancy in the ID requirements between American and Japanese companies. The digital form only allowed for 9-digit EINs, so I included the full 13-digit ID next to the company name. Additionally, I did not see a section requesting the Japanese equivalent of a W-2 form. My concerns are: 1. Can my overseas income filing be processed with the 13-digit ID adjacent to the company name? If not, will I receive an email with further instructions? 2. Will I receive an email notification if I am required to submit the Japanese equivalent of a W-2 form? 3. Does filing my [redacted] taxes in [redacted] qualify me for the COVID-19 relief check?
