Hello, I submitted my tax return on January 22nd. I received two emails regarding my Federal and State returns. The Federal return email said, "Congratulations, LUIS - your federal return has been submitted to the IRS!" The State return email stated, "Congratulations, LUIS - your Massachusetts return has been submitted!" However, I haven't received an email confirming that the IRS has received it and that it's being held until mid-February (due to claiming dependents and EITC) as in previous years. Checking the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool doesn't show any information when I enter my details. Should I be concerned, or will the status update after mid-February due to claiming dependents and EITC? Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Luis

On January 28, [redacted], I bought the H&R Block [redacted] Deluxe Federal + State software. I followed the instructions to download, and the screen displayed a message saying "please be patient, the download process could take several minutes." Despite waiting for over 3 hours, the download bar indicated that the download was incomplete. I had to interrupt the process and shut down my computer as it did not finish. I couldn't find a way on the H&R website to retry the download. My activation code is 7H94-Q6HP. I intend to dispute the credit card charge and will acquire the CD version of the software from Office Depot instead. I've already reached out to Visa Bank of America to contest the charge. As a loyal user and enthusiast of your tax software, I have encountered a frustrating experience with the download process.

Hello, I need some tax advice. I initiated the separation from my 12-year wife in October [redacted]. We have 2 children aged 11 and 7. I have been working full-time throughout the year and I am a disabled military veteran. My soon-to-be ex-wife worked part-time for about 6 months. We share joint parenting time, where I have the children for 3 days and she has them for the other 4 days. We agreed at the lawyer's office, in front of my lawyer, to file taxes jointly and divide the refund equally to pay off debts. However, she is now threatening to file alone and claim both children. Is this possible, or is there a way to prevent her from filing and claiming the children alone? Your advice on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been a loyal H&R Block customer for more than two decades. Recently, I encountered an issue while trying to purchase the Deluxe & State program through the CD provided. Unfortunately, the CD did not work, so I opted to use the website for the transaction, where an additional $5.00 discount was being offered. Despite attempting to buy it for $24.95, the purchase failed due to the screen freezing. After struggling to reach customer service for hours, I was eventually guided through the purchase process by an agent who assured me of the $24.95 price. However, upon checking my credit card statement, I discovered that I was actually charged $55.28. I am requesting a refund of $30.33 to resolve this discrepancy before I escalate the matter further.

I recently discovered Form [redacted] and realized I have never filled it out. I have been living in South Korea since [redacted] but am American, married to a Korean with no ties to the USA. I have resided in Korea since then, maintaining a Korean address, and not visited the USA. I have only worked part-time, earning under $20,[redacted] USD annually teaching. I am uncertain if I will face a penalty for not filing this form. This has left me confused about the steps I need to take and where to seek guidance.

I recently used your online filing service, and I encountered an issue where I had to correct errors. However, during this process, I was directed to multiple pages with some sections left blank. I was also prompted to reinput payment details. It was only when I returned to the initial identification page that I realized a new return had been started unintentionally. Could you please refund the charge made on my MasterCard on February 4, [redacted], for the second submission? I am unable to resubmit the same tax return twice. Thank you for addressing this matter.

I encountered an issue with TurboTax regarding my AGI#. I reached out to my usual H&R Block office, where I've been a customer for 15 years. They advised me to file online using the information they already have on file, including my AGI. Despite explaining my recent loss and financial struggles, they assured me of a refund if the e-file gets rejected. However, my attempts to get a refund have been met with rudeness and unhelpfulness from multiple staff members tonight. After spending 4 hours on hold, I'm feeling taken advantage of and like my money is being taken from me. I am seeking assistance with this situation.

I've been a loyal customer of H&R Block for many years, and I typically opt for the refund advance service annually. Usually, the payment for this service is deducted from my federal tax refund. However, this year, I received a text notification that one of my state refunds was used to cover the advance payment instead. I was relying on that state refund to pay my rent. I am now wondering if there is a way to change the payment method so that it comes out of my federal return as usual. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I had an appointment with Richard Faner for my [redacted] taxes at [redacted] Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC back in January. After waiting over 20 minutes past the appointment time because he was with another client, we discussed my return and he mentioned he needed more information. Today, on Feb. 5 @ 2:00, I made another appointment, but once again he was delayed with another client. I left after waiting for 20 minutes, and he later apologized in the parking lot, implying that delays are common by comparing it to a doctor's appointment. I am having trouble filing my taxes online. Every time I attempt to submit them, I receive an error message saying "unable to connect to server." I've checked my Internet connection, disabled the firewall, and adjusted the proxy settings, but the issue persists. Interestingly, I am facing the same problem on both my old desktop, which I used successfully last year, and my new laptop.

I have always heard H&R Block mention how they go above and beyond to maximize my refund. However, I recently paid $56.98 for my federal/state return. I discovered on the Indiana.gov website that they offer a free option called INfreefile for those who meet certain criteria. Despite using H&R Block for years and falling within the income and age requirements, I was never informed about this by H&R Block. I feel disappointed that I was not given this opportunity directly from H&R Block. I believe I am owed a refund of $56.98 to align with this free service offer. If this matter is not resolved, I will consider using INfreefile next tax season with a different partner besides H&R Block.

I have been using your tax software for the past 10 years. Currently residing in Europe for the year, I maintained tax residency in the US and Wisconsin throughout [redacted]. I tried to buy the [redacted] tax program (Fed and State) directly from H&R Block instead of Amazon, while in Italy, but I keep getting an error message that my credit card cannot be processed. I recently filed my taxes, but I suspect there might be errors in the return. I am having an issue with Form [redacted] for my rental income this year. Although my total qualified business income from the rental is $13,[redacted] and my taxable income minus net capital gains is $66,[redacted], I see a message stating, "your [redacted] deduction is 0." I am unsure why this is the case as I meet the criteria with QBI for a trade or business and my taxable income is higher than net capital gains. I have checked my last year's settings for [redacted] to ensure they remain the same this year, and they do; I am a 50% owner with active participation. Any insights on why I might not be eligible for the deduction this year based on these numbers?

I bought the [redacted] Deluxe+State version and received a new HP laptop with a missing software download. After having my computer replaced by Best Buy as it did not have a CD disk drive, I am now having trouble accessing the software download. My purchase confirmation email does not contain a link for me to download the software. I have contacted the support number provided, but I am unable to speak with a representative. I have been a loyal HR Block customer for a long time and can't recall setting up an account previously. Can someone please assist me in obtaining my download?

I installed H&R Block Deluxe [redacted] on my Mac running Mojave OS, but I can't open it. I keep getting an error message saying, "Initialization Failed. Exception thrown during initialization. Creating a directory in the following path /Users/Shared/H&R Block/[redacted] failed. Check permissions and ownership of those directories in MacFileWriterImpl::open in mode." I've already checked the permissions, but it hasn't fixed the problem.

Last year, we filed our [redacted] Federal and State Taxes in person with an H&R Block professional. My husband, an active duty military member, earned income while working outside Pennsylvania. We recently discovered we shouldn't have paid state taxes on that portion of his pay, which means we may be entitled to a significant refund. I have been a client of H&R Block for over a decade. Both my husband and I applied for a Refund Advance Loan (RAL) and were pre-approved in November. However, after filing our taxes, we were informed that we were denied the RAL because they couldn't verify our ability to repay the loan, despite expecting a $10,[redacted] tax return. I am extremely frustrated by this situation. If this issue is not resolved, I may not continue using your services in the future due to the lack of trust and reliability displayed in this process.
