Last night I placed an order with the Merchant: AreaTrend for a pair of size * Women's ASICS Jolt running shoes. The photo they showed when I chose the blue*yellow color was much more of a grey. I purchased the item, and THEN a hideous photo of neon-ish blue and yellow sneakers congratulated me on my purchase. I IMMEDIATELY opened a ticket (within * minutes) and later that night opened * more tickets asking to cancel this order. I chatted with GROUPON who assured me of the "Groupon Promise" that the merchant would cancel the order and refund it in full IF I had contacted them within * hours (which I did.) Well, low and behold.. about ** hours later, I get a short, curt, email from AreaTrend saying "Your order cannot be cancelled, it's already shipped." Not "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or any ownership of the fact that they did not acknowledge the open ticket until afterwards. This poses me with a hardship bc now I need to wait for the ugly sneakers, take time to drive ** minutes each way to the post office, PAY for the shipping, and have the $** tied up in my bank for WEEKS before I ever get a refund because they didn't honor your GROUPON PROMISE. This kind of customer service is SO archaic. Why would there not be a "cancel or edit order" option once you make a purchase? I have a blog of over **** women followers in regards to integrity and character as it relates to current issues. I will await your response in HOPES that you will honor your "Promise" and immediately issue a refund to my account and I assure you, in writing, that these sneakers will be returned as soon as they're received. A company with true integrity would also refund the SHIPPING that I need to pay to return these sneakers that never should have been sent out, but I highly doubt that from this experience. It is also a tremendous downfall that you fail to provide phone support where this could have been handled immediately. I am hopeful for a response which will honor your "Groupon Promise" and that you will reprimand AreaTrend for blemishing your reputation. Until now, we've always had positive experiences with Groupon, but this is a major fail.
