Wrong Part Sent

I recently spoke with Dee regarding case * ****** and got a replacement part - cartridge ******** for my leaking kitchen faucet. On inspection, the gaskets had disintegrated resulting in the leak. Cleaning out the residue was painstaking. Clearly the original part was defective.**Instructions were unclear with pictures only (no written directions) and multiple devices pictured on the same sheet.**I had to have a plumber come to install the part. The plastic retaining ring did not fit - the diameter was too large and the threads were wrong. Fortunately we were able to reuse the original brass ring with the new cartridge, but there was no place for the O-Rings to go on that old retaining ring. With all the problems, what should have been an easy "do-it-yourself" project or a ** minute professional plumber job turned into a ** minute job with high costs (and more than a few choice words from the plumber). It seems to be functioning properly for the time being, but who knows. I'm not happy.

Reassure me that the part we have installed will continue to function appropriately give that we have had no choice but to jerry-rig it.*Reimburse me for the charges incurred to have a plumber install something which should have been a very simple procedure which I could have easily done myself if the parts had fit.

My two kitchen sinks were both served by Grohe faucets and soap dispensers. I have had problems with both sinks and one soap dispenser. **% failure rate is not what I expected when I installed reputedly high quality and high price devices.
