I was a passenger on a bus to PHILADELPHIA. I asked the driver to show me identification when I didn’t see it readily displayed and she said the company does not issue employee IDs. I didn’t find that to be believable for a company as large as Greyhound but when I went into the station a worker inside confirmed there are no IDs. This concerns me for multiple reasons. I am entrusting my safety and security on a driver simply because they are in a Greyhound uniform. Anybody could obtain a uniform and drive away with a bus load of passengers believing they are the true operator. Terminated or disgruntled employees no longer working for the company could drive off with passengers. There are endless scenarios I could create that show how unacceptable it is for this company to not issue employee identification. I have been a longtime traveler and after learning that any person could be operating my bus, I feel totally unsafe. How would I like this remedied is easy. The company needs to issue photo IDs to employees making the bus drivers first to receive them. Then, said identification needs to be visibly displayed so passengers know that the person operating the bus is the person who is employed by the company and not someone just in uniform. I cannot say enough how unacceptable it is for you not to issue IDs.
