Your social security number is required to activate your Green Dot credit card. If you never used a social security number then call 1-866-795-7605 to activate your Card. In the prompt you will hear what number to click to activate your new card. You will need to use the 3 digit code on the card to activate it.

I loaded $*** on a new card to make my truck payment. I called the auto dealer and he tried to process payment. The payment would not go through, on line it showed that it went through and immediately was reversed back to the card.* The merchant "Johnny Cash Auto Sales" says that on his end the transactions ( he tried multiple times) was declined every time. I tried several times to reach your customer service department, but was placed on hold multiple times only to be disconnected. Sometimes within a few minutes, twice I waited over an hour on hold before the call disconnected, I never did reach a person. The next day I call and a computerized message comes on as soon as I enter my card number and tells me my card has been blocked and to remove the block I need to send a picture of my ID and Social Security card to *****@***.com and within **hrs I will receive an email with the status. I sent a picture of my Drivers license, my S.S. card, and my passport, but I never received a response. I tried for * weeks to reach a person on the phone with no success until tonight. The lady told me that now I need to send a copy of the transaction receipt and wait another ** hours. There is no receipt, because the merchant received a decline for every attempt so he made no receipt. It takes me over an hour of trying to explain this to the lady and asking for a supervisor before she finally gets me to a supervisor. Only this person also tells me that the block cannot be removed and all she can do is escalate the matter to the cooperate office and they will call me within ** hours. I told her I do not want the account I want to close my account and to mail me a check and she said she could not to wait for the call. Now at this point my vehicle payment is * weeks late because your bank will not release my money, he is telling me he is going to repo my truck that I owe less than $**** on all because your bank has my money and will not give it back... I want my $*** I want it now and I am filling a complaint with the Federal Reserve, FDIC and any other regulatory authority I can. GIBVE ME MY MONEY!!
