The easiest way to resolve any billing issues with Green Dot is to call 866-795-7597 and press 1 to get to a live representative from Green Dot . From there, you will need to enter your 16 digit card number or enter your social security to speak to that representative.
The issue in GetHuman-jskellin's own words
Last month I bought a GreenDot card which was a temporary card I got it activated and got direct deposit on my card as well as you know when you activate the temporary card that you buy you have to enter in your basic information along with your address, in which your new personalized permanent card will be sent to the address you provided for the temporary card that you bought. That being said ever since last month when I activated my temporary card I get paid every Thursday and then every Thursday I go to Food Lion because they do free cash back and I draw the money off my card but last Thursday it wouldn't let me do it anymore so I called Green Dot and they said I had to activate my permanent card which I have had for a couple weeks and just haven't got around to getting it activated. After about two hours on the phone with Green Dot customer support not really helping me as they should be I finally got the permanent card activated I checked my account and it had zero balance and as we all know when you activate the permanent card for your temporary card it switches the account over so that you can now use your permanent card which was the case for me and after about two hours of arguing on the phone and asking to speak to a supervisor at least * times with Greendot customer support they put me through to someone in accounting whose name is Chelsea badge number *****. What she told me was that I had three different GreenDot accounts the first one was my temporary card the second account was my new permanent card that I had just activated and the third account was an old GreenDot card from about * to * years ago maybe even longer I understood that and I told her I understand that but the problem was that she told me that the new card that I just activated which was the permanent card that GreenDot had sent me for my temporary card that I had mentioned before in this message that I had received last month what's for my old account card from about * to * years ago that I haven't used since. And this is where me and her started arguing after I had stated to her numerous times that I understand what she saying this is what I told her. I told her that somebody at GreenDot had to have made a mistake because it makes no sense why GreenDot would send me a new permanent card for a already permanent card I had * to * years ago and haven't used since then to a new address that they only got from me last month which the new address was used to activate my temporary card that I purchased last month so what I said to her was then where is my permanent card for my temporary card then and she couldn't give me an honest answer and I told her I understand what's going on and what's going on is that someone messed up and that I need my money off my card and on the phone with her for about two hours I had said that my power bill was due the next day and then I have a little baby boy at home and then my power wouldget cut off if they couldn't help me and I can't even go into detail about how ignorant GreenDot customer service was with me on the phone all I wanted was my money off my card and they couldn't deliver that to me and that's money I worked all week for and that's money I needed off my card to pay my power bill because it's winter time here and we need the power on for my infant son. so again I'll say I have no idea why GreenDot would send me a permanent card to an already permanent card that I haven't used in * or * years and no longer know the whereabouts of that card or account to replace my temporary card I got last month which makes absolutely no sense because it's two different accounts. And if I'm thinking correctly the permanent card that I received at my new address which is the wrong card according to GreenDot for my temporary card should not have been sent to that address like I said they didn't have my new address until last month when I activated my temporary card if anything it should have been sent to my old address that I lived at five or six years ago. I hope this makes sense to someone and they said that they were going to send me a new permanent card the one that matches my temporary card but then she said that she was going to cut my temporary card off and I told her not to do that because then I wouldn't have access to my money at all and I told her what's wrong with her and why would she do that after the story I had just told her about how my power needed to be paid so after almost four hours of back and forth on the phone with Green Dot customer service I have gotten nowhere it's been a week now because it is now the next Thursday and I have still not received a new permanent card and I can also still not draw money off my card which I need to do to pay the next power bill honestly I do not think I will be using GreenDot anymore after I finally get my money off my card and if anything I think I need to be compensated because the people I've talked to that Greendot customer service have no idea what they're talking about I didn't really seem to understand what I was telling them the problem was and also would not listen to a thing I said about please put me through to a supervisor not one of them did and it really upset me and my family I no longer have any trust in the GreenDot bank card company. I would really appreciate it if someone would get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks
