log into google to look at my gmail ... Dear Google,*I have never had a hack or any other security problem on my computer or my phone.I have not recently changed any system settings on my computer, my browsers (which are firefox and opera and will remain only firefox and opera), my accounts, or my phone. No one else has physical access to any of those things. Nevertheless. Google constantly entreats me to put a lock on my phone. I AM NOT GOING TO PUT A LOCK ON MY PHONE. I never allow anyone else on my home desktop, and I use it several times every week to sign into gmail. *********Now, Every time I sign into Google on my home computer, it says I haven't signed in on it in *** days (not true, and my calendar is fine, and even though the same thing happened just YESTERDAY ON THIS SAME COMPUTER) and makes me retrieve a * digit number from my phone before it lets me in. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE SECURITY REQUIREMENT. If it happens one more time I will very likely abandon Google, gmail and the whole lot of it. This is huge intrusion, and I won't tolerate it. MAKE IT STOP RIGHT NOW!!!!! I have other options. I need you to respond QUICKLY, before it happens again. If it does. You won't need to respond at all, because you will have become irrelevant.
I sign in most days and they said I hadn't used my home desktop in *** days
Stopping their overly zealous and erroneous "security" algorithms from making me jump through hoops with a second device day after day, when they are not correct about the reationale for doing so (see text above). The next time I try to retrieve my own mail on my own device in my own house where I am the only one with access, I want to be able to do so with no requirement for access other than my password which has always worked until this multi-device nonsense started. I WILL NOT go through that day after day. I will not allow that to become "normal."
I've had google and gmail since ****
Looked at all my settings, nothing is different. Reviewed security events. Nothing. Google recognized that I was on this home desktop yesterday, and then today they said they didn't recognize the device and I hadn't used it in *** days (which they "know" even though they don't recognize it?). This comes from no where. Texted google on their feedback link. No response. I will NOT keep doing this with them. I can use duckduckgo and my ISPs email.
