The issue in GetHuman2646690's own words
I was trying to prevent all new in-app charges via Google Play by setting up the recommended security measure that is supposed to require my fingerprint Authentication or payment are not to be approved. Apparently an unauthorized "one-tap purchase" bypasses any security restrictions in this particular application. ... After January incident of unauthorized charges, I followed Google Play instructions for requiring "fingerprint Authentication" for all Google Payments. According to Google Play, "in-app purchases, as well as, any purchase that requires "fingerprint Authentication" will prevent future "unauthorized purchases." In February, my ten year old grandchild was playing a game on my cell phone. I didn't have any worries about unauthorized in-app charges because I had followed the recommendation made by Google to establish my "fingerprint Authentication" to protect myself from future unauthorized access to my bank account. My bank contacted me on February twenty-eighth regarding twenty fraudulent charges by Google. They closed my credit card immediately. After carefully investigating how these charges happened again, my grandchild said she believed she was canceling all the pop-up screens when she clicked on the "one-tap" button. She complained that the game had too many pop-ups and it wasn't fun playing it. Because I had taken the precaution of adding a fingerprint authorization before any purchase could be made & because my grandchild believed she was canceling it, I am requesting a complete refund of all twenty items. Once this refund has been processed I want to request a permanent closure of Google Pay. I live on a very modest fixed income and these charges have caused me to experience a serious financial hardship. I wasn't able to pay my electric bill this month because of these charges.
This is especially frustrating because I did what Google Play instructed to protect me from unauthorized charges in the future. I don't believe Google realizes the "fingerprint Authentication" required before payments are approved has been easily bypassed by one of the games*applications they offer on Google Play.
This could be corrected by granting a complete refund of all twenty transactions AND then by permanently closing my Google Pay account.
I have never used Google or any other type of payment services after being swindled ten years ago. I've always used my pin code so I could "prove" I didn't authorize charges without my pin code entered. I became a devote Google customer after a long, frustrating battle with Microsoft and their chronic viruses, crashes, etc. I completely migrated my entire internet life to Google.
I submitted refund requests via Google Play for android as instructed only to have my requests denied for out of google refund policy but no further explanation. *I submitted unauthorized transactions on Google Play only to have them declined after twenty days stating they couldn't verify any unauthorized activity. Again, no explanation nor any info for additional help. I am curious as to how they made this conclusion since no one ever contacted me. *My bank denied my request to reverse the transactions because I had similar transactions in January, therefore my bank concluded these were "regular transactions." I have filed a complaint against my bank with the State Dept. of Banking regarding my bank.*Now, I am attempting to actually speak with a human being at Google. Hopefully, a real person will be more understanding and helpful.
I have an issue with Google Play too
