I'm extremely disappointed in GoFundMe's recent handling of the Canadian Trucker Convoy donations. The funds were donated with a specific purpose in mind, and it is not GoFundMe's place to dictate how they should be used. The responsibility of GoFundMe is simply to transfer the funds to the intended recipient. If there were any issues, they should have been addressed promptly and transparently, not weeks later. The generous donors contributed in good faith to support the truckers, and GoFundMe's actions are unacceptable. I, along with many others in Canada, will no longer support GoFundMe. I urge the company to review its own practices for any breaches of their policies and to refrain from being swayed by media influences.

Hello, I recently discovered that the fundraiser for the Canada trucker convoy protests was closed. As a donor, I wanted to express my strong disappointment with the way it was handled. The decision to close the fundraising campaign and allocate the donations to a different cause without informing donors directly is concerning. It seems unfair to redirect funds without giving donors the option to request a refund first. It would have been more ethical to communicate this clearly from the beginning. Furthermore, the inconsistency in managing fundraisers, particularly in comparison to past events like BLM, raises questions about the platform's fairness and impartiality. I feel compelled to share my decision to no longer support GoFundMe due to these issues. It's a missed opportunity for the platform to truly make a positive impact.

I keep receiving emails from GoFundMe about a bank information issue, despite already receiving payouts. I've uploaded the required documents multiple times via the "safe send" link but keep getting the same email from Amit. I can't access my bank data further to understand the problem. This has been going on for over two weeks. I've asked GoFundMe to review my documents and advise on the problem or confirm resolution. How can I fix this? Starting to get frustrated. Thank you. S.J.

I managed to create a GoFundMe for a friend in need of a new wheelchair and we hit our fundraising goal! However, now I am unable to access the website. Despite trying to reset my password, I am stuck at the "submit" button. I reached out via email, but the responses were unhelpful. It's frustrating that there is no live chat or phone support available when my friend requires assistance setting up the withdrawal account.

Supporting BLM in light of these actions may be seen as aligning with the wrong side of history. There are concerns about the repercussions for groups like GoFundMe in the future. While promoting peace, there is a warning about provoking a large group of individuals to take action. It is acknowledged that within any group, there can be a few who commit crimes, but it should not reflect on the entire group. This situation highlights perceived double standards and the importance of remaining transparent and fair in handling donated funds. Stressing the significance of respecting donors' intentions, there is a call for rectifying the situation and ensuring funds reach the intended recipients.

I am inquiring if the funds sent to the truck drivers were truly cancelled. I find it concerning that money was still allocated to other causes while claims were made against the truckers. There seems to be an issue regarding the verification of incidents as no police reports could be found. Allegations were made without proper investigation, and the redirection of funds to a different charity is questionable. I wish to have my contribution returned, as I no longer trust GoFundMe. My disappointment lies in the lack of transparency and fairness in handling donations. I demand a refund, and I feel many others share my sentiment.

I created a GoFundMe a month ago to help cover the costs of attending my dad's funeral. Within a day, I reached my $500USD goal from generous friends and family. However, the GoFundMe was inexplicably closed before I could provide the funeral date, and all donations were refunded without explanation. Unable to access my account, I had to set up a new one, but the donations from my friends did not come through. I am concerned about where the money went and would like it deposited into my bank account as intended, not randomly redirected to other fundraisers. This behavior is dishonorable and dishonest, misusing funds meant for personal causes. I am now contemplating reporting this issue to the BBB.

A relative in the US set up a GoFundMe page for me but encountered an issue when trying to make me the beneficiary since I don't have a US bank account. Instead, we'd like my relative, Mariella Mittleberg, to be the beneficiary and handle the withdrawal to send me the funds. I have been receiving emails indicating that I made donations to campaigns which I have not contributed to. My card has not been charged yet, but I am concerned about potential fraudulent charges. I would like to address this matter before any unauthorized transactions occur. I have already been refunded for three out of the four erroneous emails, except for the donation related to the "I like traveling" campaign. Following the passing of my husband, Wells Fargo indicated that he was the sole owner of our accounts, despite my name being included and on the cards. They have frozen all 4 accounts, including the one where the Gofundme donations were being deposited. To resolve this, I have reached out to our attorney who handled our Will. I am awaiting the submission of the necessary legal documents including the Death Certificate and a form from the lawyer to be sent to Wells Fargo via fax in hopes of unfreezing the accounts. I am concerned about the status of the Gofundme money. Will it be forfeited or returned to donors? I anticipate a resolution soon, but this situation has left me without access to any funds. My friends created a GoFundMe page for me, Betty C., and my late niece, Deanna W. Deanna, who was 37, has passed away from gallbladder cancer. The account has been closed, but the funds did not reach her account. Before she could hear back from GoFundMe, she passed away. The money collected was meant to assist me in moving and provide help to her if someone chose to donate. I recently discovered that a page was set up for my son's funeral services without my knowledge. I was told that there was no insurance to cover the expenses, and instead, funds from a GoFundMe account were misused. I later found out that a life insurance policy was taken out a week before his death, which had been kept secret by his grandmother. This discovery feels like a betrayal and fraudulent behavior. It deeply upsets me that someone would exploit the kindness of others who contribute to GoFundMe accounts meant for those in need. I am heartbroken to think that the insurance money was overlooked to benefit their own agenda. I am unsure of what steps to take next, but I feel strongly that this situation is unethical.
