My friend, Julie Halverson, started a GoFundMe for my only son, who passed away in Florida at the age of 34. The funds are set to go into my bank account, but the first transfer is scheduled for the 18th. I've already used my $2,[redacted] overdraft and spent all my money on cremation and a hotel room. This situation is overwhelming as it all happened suddenly due to heart attacks. The funeral costs for just the cremation are high, and I have no money left for food or for the hotel expenses. The bank is helping by waiving the $30 overdraft charges, but I urgently need access to $1,[redacted] of the GoFundMe money earlier. I'm emotionally drained and financially struggling. Please consider releasing some of the funds sooner. Thank you for your assistance. God bless you. -Brooke Whitehead

I have submitted my question multiple times but have not been able to withdraw the donation money I received. It has been 42 days, and despite providing my personal and bank information, I keep getting notifications for verification. I feel frustrated and stuck in a loop, unable to access the funds. I tried different bank accounts, including my mother's, but nothing worked. The lack of customer service contact is making this situation even more stressful. This money is crucial for me during this crisis, as my husband's health issue has put me in a difficult spot. I urgently need to access the $[redacted] donation for vital expenses like utilities and car issues that are impacting my daily life. I'm hoping for a solution soon to resolve this pressing matter.

I have set up a GoFundMe page for my niece, Audrea Elena, who was diagnosed with B-cell leukemia at the end of July. The fundraiser is on behalf of my sister, Maria Espino, who is a single mom shouldering all household responsibilities. Maria pays for the mortgage, bills, necessities, school expenses, and medical insurance for her two children. Concerns have arisen about potentially losing her job due to supporting Audrea, risking homelessness. Despite asking family, friends, and coworkers for donations, a problem has emerged with Eric McCamey, the kids' father. He is requesting half of the funds raised, although he is not romantically involved with Maria or living with them. Maria is the main provider and caretaker for her family, facing the risk of losing their home, job, car, and utility services. She attends to the children's needs, school events, medical appointments, and is currently with Audrea at the hospital. The dilemma is whether Eric has any legitimate claim to the funds raised for Maria and her children.

I am looking to assist in retrieving funds for a GoFundMe campaign set up for Crystal Ladonia Hicks during her battle with stage 4 cancer. Following her passing, $1,[redacted].00 appears to be available in one of the accounts, possibly created through Facebook. Crystal Ladonia Hicks used two accounts, one with approximately $9,[redacted].00 for funeral expenses and another intended to support her son, Cruz Pangan, which currently holds $1,[redacted].00. These accounts were established around 2 years ago. I am eager to facilitate the transfer of these funds to assist Cruz Pangan. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Such platforms are invaluable for those facing hardship.

Hello, I am in desperate need of assistance as the situation is causing me stress. I have initiated a withdrawal and received confirmation, but then got an email requesting document uploads. Attempting to upload takes me back to GoFundme instead of WePay. I have a WePay account linked to my GoFundme, and after making the withdrawal, it should show as processing, but there are no results. Donors might be refunded soon, and I feel helpless. I strongly urge GoFundme to improve their customer support by providing access to human representatives, as this issue could have been resolved promptly. Thank you for your attention.

I created a GoFundMe campaign called "Wayne's Fund" for my colleague currently in the hospital. I designated another coworker, Beatrice Woods, as the recipient of the funds. Beatrice has helped Wayne by withdrawing the donations and writing him a check. However, she prefers not to receive daily automated withdrawals whenever someone contributes. Beatrice has closed her GoFundMe account, and it shouldn't display her as the beneficiary on the main fundraising page as the intended recipient is Wayne. If you need to reach me, please contact me at [redacted] or call [redacted].

Six days ago, I created an emergency GoFundMe page for my family. My mom, Denise Paulson, suffered a massive stroke and is currently hospitalized in Victoria, BC. I live in Nanaimo, BC, and initiated the fundraiser to assist my dad and sister with travel expenses. However, I've encountered issues with the deposits from the third-party payment processor, "WePay." Despite submitting my driver's license for identity verification as requested, my account remains "under review" for 48 hours. I'm frustrated that the funds have not been released into my bank account. I'm eager for a prompt resolution. Please provide me with an update at [redacted] or email [redacted]

Hello, I am Gregory Janacek, and I am representing my late wife, Alise Janacek. Recently, I received a notification about needing to reclaim funds due to a challenge to the legitimacy of my wife's campaign. This challenge stemmed from a cousin who was not on good terms and whom I did not allow to take my wife's belongings after her passing. The funeral arrangements were disrupted as the family tried to interfere, and I had to cancel the funeral service initially selected. I had overlooked your email from August, which was found in my spam folder. The creator of the campaign, Michelle, had already informed GoFundMe about this situation, and I was under the impression that it was resolved. The funds were used for transportation, cremation, and outstanding bills of my wife, as the original funeral plans had to be altered due to inflated costs orchestrated by some family members working with the funeral home staff. To address the current issue, I can provide the cremation certificate for verification purposes.

My son recently passed away, and my niece organized a GoFundMe account that raised $[redacted]. We held his services on August 18th. On August 24th, I provided my bank account details following the instructions provided, receiving confirmation of pending transfers within 2-5 days. It is now September 4th, and no money has been transferred. I'm concerned this might be a scam since I did not receive any responses to my emails sent to the GoFundMe confirmation. I plan to contact the Attorney General's Office, where my friend works, and the Better Business Bureau if I don't hear back from you promptly. It's disheartening to see vulnerable individuals being taken advantage of during such difficult times.

I am writing regarding a GoFundMe campaign established in August for Nicholas Shannon. It has been over three weeks now, and I have been attempting to withdraw the funds during this time. I have corresponded via email with Zach and Jake from your organization since it seems phone calls go unanswered. I am truly dismayed by the handling of the withdrawal process or lack thereof by your organization. The donations were intended for the Shannon Family to cover funeral expenses, yet I am encountering obstacles in obtaining the funds. Despite providing all the necessary documentation, there have been continuous issues on your end, citing errors and technical difficulties. This situation is utterly unacceptable. The Shannon Family, already dealing with a great loss, is further distressed by the delays caused by your organization. I have escalated this matter to the attorney general of Massachusetts to inform them of the situation where the funds are being withheld, subjecting the family to unnecessary hurdles to access what rightfully belongs to them. The treatment of this family is simply heartless. - LC

Good morning, my name is Will. I hope you are doing well. I am a U.S. Army veteran who worked with the Hawk missile from [redacted] to [redacted]. I spent 2 years at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, and another 2 years in Germany. I have my DD Form [redacted]. I am reaching out because my wife and I are in need of assistance for home repairs. Our situation is quite complicated, but any help would be greatly appreciated. My wife is disabled, and I am retired on a fixed income. We are struggling with overdue HOA fees and various home maintenance issues such as a leaky front door and poor-quality windows. Habitat for Humanity provided some assistance, but their funds ran out. I am grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you and God bless.

I have been attempting for almost a week to link my bank account for withdrawing funds from a GoFundMe campaign created for me and my son following the passing of my husband. An error keeps appearing stating the bank cannot be verified. Despite sending several emails and uploading bank statements, a voided check, and my ID, the error message persists, insisting on bank verification. It's frustrating that there isn't a customer service representative to speak to, and the email responses are repetitive, requesting additional bank statements for verification. I have completed these steps and still encounter issues. I need clear instructions on how to resolve this matter promptly to access the funds. I am disappointed with the experience and will caution others against donating to GoFundMe campaigns in the future.

My former husband passed away on June 27, [redacted]. He was a wonderful person but was not financially supportive of me and our three children. His parents created a GoFundMe account for our kids without informing me. They used photos from the funeral, even cutting me out of one. Many friends, family members, and my ex-in-laws' acquaintances contributed to it. Later, ownership was transferred to my ex's best friend. My children are aged 23, 20, and 16. We are grateful for the support as I have been a single parent for most of their lives, and we were left with bills and no money. However, we are unable to access the funds, as the best friend is now in control and is not letting us use it as intended. I have lost child support and although I have a job, it's not enough to cover everything. We are struggling, and the money raised is being withheld from us. Those who donated are upset that the funds are not benefitting my children as promised in the account. I wonder what my rights are in this situation and if I need to seek legal advice.

I recently received an email from Kristen at GoFundMe's community management team regarding my brother's fundraiser. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly last Wednesday due to an undiagnosed heart problem. Kristen mentioned that withdrawals were paused until some questions were clarified, which I promptly addressed. However, after sending two follow-up emails, I have not received any response regarding why the funds are still on hold. With my brother's wake scheduled for tomorrow and the funeral on Tuesday, the money raised was meant to cover expenses my parents cannot afford. It is distressing that due to this delay, we are now facing additional financial strain. The lack of communication and empathy from the company is truly disappointing. If I do not receive a prompt reply, I plan to escalate this by contacting corporate tomorrow morning. I can be reached at [redacted] or via email at [redacted]. Thank you, Shannon M.

Yesterday, I received a thank you note for a contribution made to a campaign on GoFundMe that I did not authorize. The email and credit card charge were not from me. I've already informed my credit card company about the unauthorized charges. Please remove my information such as my name, email address, and credit card details from GoFundMe's records. I do not want to be involved in any fraudulent activity. GoFundMe, please delete my data promptly.

Putting an end to this: Justin has resorted to attacking my mother by publishing her personal phone number and work email address. As a result, she's heading to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department today. I am requesting the suspension of Justin's account. I will soon provide evidence on his profile to defend my mother. This evidence will include an email where Kati asked Justin to bring heroin to the hospital, which he injected into her resulting in her failing a drug test. Justin fled the hospital before the authorities arrived. I will also post Kati's charges for theft related to her heroin addiction. I find it necessary to step in since gofundme avoids family conflicts, leaving me no choice but to protect my mother from these individuals. My mother, who has supported my sister through her troubles, does not deserve this treatment. I urge you to take action, remove my mother's contact details from that account. Thank you.

My stepson, my husband's child, has had his identity stolen by someone who does not have any legal rights to him. We have sole custody, and the individual involved has been engaging in fraudulent activities, including pocketing money and defrauding GoFundMe. The police have been informed, and we have a case number 18-[redacted] regarding the matter. The person in question goes by the names Sarah Ferreira and April Teaster Hamm in Utah. They are facing an A misdemeanor charge. We have been trying to get a webpage taken down since August 22, [redacted], without any success. The police officer, Bailey with badge number [redacted], advised us to contact the platform hosting the page until it is removed. We urge immediate action before we escalate this situation further. Thank you.

I attempted to add my beneficiary following the steps provided, but the "Someone Else" option is not showing up for me as instructed. My name is L. K., and I have collected donations for K. I would like her to directly receive the funds. I have tried signing out and back in without success. Below is the message I received from GoFundMe regarding adding a beneficiary. It states that before releasing the hold on withdrawals, I need to confirm the addition of my beneficiary. This is crucial to ensure taxes are handled correctly, to enhance credibility, and to enable smooth fund withdrawals. The instructions are to sign in, click 'Withdraw' on my campaign dashboard, click 'Someone Else,' enter the beneficiary's details, and confirm the setup. I am sharing this for assistance in addressing the issue. Thank you.
