I have been receiving Amazon emails on my Gmail account ([redacted]) intended for someone else. They include purchase confirmations and tracking numbers, despite me not buying anything. Amazon said I should contact Gmail. I discovered that the person, using the username Boomer, lives in Moline, IL, where the items are being sent. My only concern is that someone may have used my email address for their Amazon account or other sites. Earlene King, Minnesota

I am receiving emails from Amazon in my Gmail account (*****@***.com) meant for someone else. These emails contain purchase confirmations and tracking information, but the items are not on my Amazon orders. Amazon claims it's a Gmail issue and advised me to contact Gmail. However, I worry about changing an email I have used for years. The person receiving the items in Moline, IL uses the username Boomer and I just get Amazon emails for them. I am concerned someone may have used my email address for their account. Can Gmail help me communicate with the person receiving the items to sort this out? Amazon has not assisted in contacting the recipient to rectify this issue. I hope Gmail can help resolve this situation. - E.K.

I wanted to share important details regarding a Gmail user trying to extort money using [redacted] I possess screenshots, original emails, a copy of the photo utilized, and a fake USA passport image provided by the scammer, along with their name, bank account number, and bank branch number in Australia. Despite my efforts to provide this crucial information to you for action, it seems you have not shown interest in reviewing the evidence. In response, I have reported the scammer to ACORN, Skype, and I plan to approach the local bank branch and police as I have successfully identified the scammer in close proximity to me. It's imperative to halt this individual from defrauding others, as they may have victimized more people and pose a continuing threat. It appears that monetary gain takes precedence over ethical responsibilities for your platform.

I am frustrated with the difficulty of recovering my account, [redacted] Despite having Apple access, I cannot regain control through Google, which is inconvenient since I received and followed instructions via email. Changing my phone number means I cannot use that security option, as it now belongs to someone else. Your reliance on phone numbers for security is flawed because if I had updated it, a stranger could have gained access. Please restore my account as I can still access it via email. I am considering switching to a Microsoft account due to these issues. Celina de Miranda P.S. The service quality is subpar, and the unhelpful phone support is disappointing.

I am having trouble remembering my password. I am currently logged into my email on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ for apps like Docs and Gmail, but when I try to reset my password using the standard process, I am unable to do so on my trusted device. The recovery email associated with my account ([redacted]) is inaccessible as I can't remember its password, which was created 9 years ago. I am requesting a password reset to be sent to either [redacted] or [redacted] While trying to verify my ownership of [redacted], I keep getting denied despite providing all the necessary information. I am unsure why this is happening and am unable to proceed with the reset even on my trusted device.

I have a longstanding Gmail account since the beginning which has now been compromised. Despite going through the security procedures after it was hacked, I am now locked out as the two-step verification requires a phone that was stolen. I only have access to a computer using Chrome. I need to regain access to my emails for work. Can someone please help me with this and provide advice on securing my accounts moving forward? The emails I am trying to recover access to are: 1. [redacted] 2. [redacted] 3. [redacted] 4. [redacted] 5. [redacted] Thank you in advance.

I am experiencing issues receiving emails from certain companies like AT&T and Citi Bank. These companies have claimed to have sent me emails, but I have not received them. Currently, I am dealing with a dispute matter with Citi Bank, and despite their claims of sending me instructions via email on May 5 and May 20, I have not received them. Concerning AT&T, I faced difficulties with the call blocking feature on my phone. After speaking with an agent who supposedly emailed me instructions to resolve the issue, I never received the email. Regarding my login issue on the dating site Plenty of Fish (POF), where I forgot my password, POF instructed me to check my email for a message on how to reset it, which I also did not receive. When seeking assistance from AT&T tech support, as they are my internet provider, I was informed that the problem lies with Google and not within their scope to help.

To whom it may concern, I recently discovered that a Gmail account ([redacted]) was created on December 2nd, [redacted] at 2:28 am using my Yahoo account. I took immediate action by changing the passwords on the account through the "forgot password" option, using my Yahoo account for recovery. Upon investigation, I noticed that this email address is suspiciously similar to my main Gmail account, [redacted] Further scrutiny revealed that the [redacted] account was accessed today at 3:09 pm via an Atom feed. This incident appears to be another unfortunate case of cybercrime, and I am anxious about the security of my intellectual property. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide an explanation regarding this situation and advise me on the best course of action moving forward. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Kind regards, Mark Vorwerk

Yesterday, my phone was stolen. I know my Gmail and password for confirmation. I received a code on my Yahoo account from Google after requesting it. Google mentioned their experts would review my details and respond within 3 to 5 business days. I explained about my stolen phone, requesting access to the location to track it. They updated that they would get back to me within 3 to 5 hours. While using a borrowed computer from AT&T, I tried to access my accounts. Upon entering my Yahoo email and password, I could read my emails instantly. However, trying to log in to my Gmail was a challenge with the password and confirmation code not being sufficient. Despite explaining the urgency due to the stolen phone, Google was not able to assist promptly. It's frustrating as the thief had a 30-hour head start, and I am left without any help. What steps can I take next?

When trying to access my Gmail, I encountered the following prompt: "Add Gmail to your Google Account. Someone already has that username. Note that we ignore periods and capitalization in usernames. Try another? Available: pridayjay420." By opting into Gmail, I am enhancing my email experience with Google. Gmail is accessible on any device, offers spam filtering, and various other features. Moving forward, my new Gmail address will be utilized as the primary email associated with this account. Important notifications and updates will be sent to this Gmail address. Although my current email, [redacted], will transition to being an alternate email on this account, I can still sign in using it. Alternatively, I have the choice to create a new Google Account with a different email while keeping the current one as it is.

I have a Gmail account linked to my phone via Google. Lately, I've been experiencing difficulties with my password and verification process. Despite setting a new password, my phone keeps asking for verification, which I cannot access. Apple, the phone manufacturer, was unable to assist me. I am frustrated with Google's lack of support and the continuous prompts for verification codes that turn out to be invalid. I feel overwhelmed by the inconsistency between setting the password and verifying the account. I would appreciate any help in understanding why Google may have locked my account and resolving this issue. As someone with special needs, I find it challenging to navigate these technical problems. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ann Christel.

I am experiencing difficulty accessing my Gmail account '[redacted]'. It is crucial for my business purposes as I have been using it since before [redacted]. The account is linked to an outdated mobile number [redacted]4, which I no longer have access to. Interestingly, I am still logged in on my mail app, but with a new phone coming, I won't be able to access it without the password. I have tried to locate the welcome email from Gmail, but the oldest one visible is from 02/[redacted]. Could you please send a verification code to my blocked email '[redacted]' so I can reset my password? In the meantime, I have another email, but it is imperative that I regain access to this account before changing phones.

Hello, I am experiencing an issue where I am receiving emails that were meant for someone else. This is causing me a lot of annoyance and I am concerned about the security implications. I recently came across information that is a bit confusing to me. It suggests that even if dots are added to an email address, the email will still be received by the intended recipient. For example, if the email is [redacted], all dotted variations belong to the same person: [redacted] I am uncertain about what this means for my situation. My email address is [redacted], and I am receiving emails intended for [redacted] (without dots). I am unclear on the concept of "you own all dotted versions of your address." Does this mean that the person with the [redacted] address also owns mine ([redacted])? I am puzzled as to why I am receiving their emails and whether they are receiving mine as well.

My previous gmail account, [redacted], got disabled, and I'm unable to access it. This email is linked to my Instagram, which I need to use. It was shut down due to suspicious activity, stemming from friends finding my password. There are old photos on there I want to remove because they are embarrassing. The account is a source of teasing at school. I want to deactivate it, but I can't without getting into my old email. Instagram's customer service is not helpful. Thank you for listening.

I'm reaching out for assistance regarding an individual residing at a Work Release facility in Madison County, Indiana. They inadvertently left a public computer at the local library without logging off, and are now unable to regain access to their email and photos. Despite limited resources and time, attempts to recover the account have been unsuccessful due to locked accounts, outdated phone numbers, and rejection of alternate email addresses. Any advice on how to assist in recovering the account would be greatly appreciated. - Bob B., Data Analyst at Madison County Problem Solving Courts
