I took my **** GMC Terrain to Bob Sellers in Farmington Hills, MI for a*c repair and a loud exhaust. The service adviser reported that my compressor was leaking and had to be replaced at $***. He also told me that the entire back of the exhaust was rotted and would cost an additional $****.** to replace it. I had the a*c repaired but not the exhaust. *I took the vehicle to a local muffler shop and found that only the resonator was bad and they repaired it for $***. *I complained to the service manager Tom Brown. He told me that GM only allows the dealer to replace the entire section, not just the resonator. Is this true? True or not I was still misled by the advisor. I could have paid more than $****.** of unnecessary repairs. I am a life long GM customer who has purchased ** new vehicles in the past.
