GE and Lowes scheduled a repair for my ice maker in my fridge. When the repair tech came and repaired the ice maker, GE refused to authorize payment and told the tech I had to pay the bill. I asked why. The person on the phone said they needed the serial number off of the ice maker, The tech told her it didn't have one. She said she would not authorize payment because didn't have one. The ice makers do not have a serial number, the tech attempted to explain multiple times, the person on the phone refused to pay the bill, no further explanation. I had to pay the bill, the tech wouldn't leave without payment. The ice maker diagnosis was it was not set properly from the factory* and had to be adjusted to make ice. I want reimbursement* for the service call, it was no fault of the consumer because to wouldn't make ice. He had to open the mechanical area and recalibrate it to operate correctly.
GetHuman-sturkle did not yet indicate what GE Consumer Relations should do to make this right.
