Total disaster. Purchased that range hoping to get a high quality electrical range delivered. Upon delivery to my *th floor apartment (which I paid for extra) there was no visible damage to the range and I signed off on the delivery. A certified electrician then installed the range but it turned out that one of the burners was not working. It appears that the heating element became loose inside the housing either during final install at the factory or during transport. The heating element fell down inside the range but was still working when turned on and causing a serious fire hazard. This was not apparent from the outside without hooking the range up and turning it on. I went to back to home depot and complained about the broken burner and fire hazard it poses. I was told that this is liability of GE so I called their service line and scheduled an appointment. GE send over an electrician who opened the range and reinstalled the heating element. The heating element is now working but he used such a force that now the front heating element is not working. Called in service again to now have the front heating element fixed. Waiting here all afternoon for electrician. Just called service hotline and was told electrician came by and nobody was at home. The door bell never rang and neither my phone which has the number associated with the GE text message system to confirm my appointment. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never purchase any GE appliance from home depot or any other store again.
brand new range. broken on arrival. Repair initiated. broken again. poor quality.
