I completed the online check-in for my connecting flight from Helsinki to Hong Kong hours before departure. During the process, it indicated that there would be a fee for the seat selection. I accidentally clicked "start over" without finishing the check-in. Now, when I try to check my booking status, it shows that the online check-in is complete and asks for payment for the seat selection. Can I wait until hours before departure to change the seat to a free one and avoid the charge?

My daughter and I reserved extra legroom seats in economy class for our AY [redacted] flight from New York to Helsinki on April 14th. We paid $85.18 each for seats 24C and D in an exit row. Unfortunately, at JFK, we were informed that due to my age of 84, we were not permitted to sit in those seats. We were not made aware of any age restrictions when we made the reservation. As there were no other available extra legroom seats, we had to sit in regular economy. I am requesting a refund of $[redacted].36 for the inconvenience. Thank you, Charles Magee from Washington, DC.

Upon reviewing my Finnair booking, I attempted to update my trip details and regulatory information. I initially misunderstood that the regulatory info section was only necessary for travel to the USA. However, as my journey includes stops in Heathrow, Stockholm, and an upcoming overnight stay in Helsinki before heading to Iceland, I mistakenly entered my USA home address. I am unsure if any changes are needed or if additional information is required for my visit to Finland to ensure my booking is complete. Despite multiple attempts to correct it, the system does not allow me to delete the address. I tried contacting Finnair without success. The booking reference is L5EM4N made through OneTravel.com. The names on the tickets are D. Albornoz and J. Albornoz, with e-ticket numbers [redacted][redacted]/14 & [redacted][redacted]/12. As of 7/22/[redacted], I still need clarification on whether any action is needed regarding the regulatory info section for my journey from Finland to Iceland. Appreciate any guidance.

I am currently at Narita Airport. I was booked on flight AY72 this morning. After checking in and passing through security and immigration, I realized my phone, passport, and ticket were missing at the gate. Despite searching multiple times, including with the help of a colleague and airport staff, we eventually found everything tucked under a loose flap in my bag. Unfortunately, it was too late to board the plane. Airport staff attempted to rebook me on the next flight but encountered unknown issues. I have been advised to contact my employer's travel agency, which is not open yet. I am seeking advice on the next steps to take in this situation.

We had booked a Finnair flight for November 4 from London Heathrow to Centrair Nagoya, Japan with a layover in Helsinki. Upon arrival at Heathrow, we discovered that British Airways (BA) was operating the first leg. Due to overbooking, we were bumped off the Heathrow to Helsinki flight, causing us to miss our connection. BA rerouted us via Seoul to reach Centrair. However, Finnair cancelled our return flights due to us missing our outbound flight. We are struggling to reach Finnair, partly due to the time difference between Japan and Europe. We are puzzled why BA and Finnair haven't resolved why we missed our outbound flight and reinstated our return flights. It is frustrating to deal with this situation caused by BA's overbooking.

I am here to report the highly irresponsible behavior I encountered on my Finnair flight from DEL to VIE. I booked my flight well in advance with the booking reference number ZLCTBD for a journey on March 14, [redacted]. Despite the planned arrival time of 18:30, the flight was significantly delayed, and I was only informed upon reaching Delhi Airport. This resulted in a 17-hour layover instead of the expected 2 hours. Airlines have a responsibility to promptly notify passengers of any delays to allow for necessary adjustments. Finnair’s failure to communicate caused significant emotional and logistical distress. As a result of this disruption, I had to rearrange my European travel plans, including rebooking flights and cancelling and rebooking accommodations. I request compensation from Finnair for the inconvenience and stress caused by the mishandling of this situation, as per EC regulations.

My husband, myself, and our 10-month-old baby booked our travels through Expedia for a flight from EWR, Newark International to CDT Chicago O'Hare, then to Barcelona, Spain, connecting with Finnair Flight [redacted] departing Chicago at 10:10 pm. However, upon arriving at the airport, we were informed that our flight from Chicago to Barcelona was canceled on April 23rd. American Airlines customer agent Brenda mentioned that we were not listed on the flight. As we are about to depart for Chicago, we need assistance resolving this issue promptly to ensure our travel plans go smoothly. It is crucial as we made advance payments for our tickets. Please advise on the next steps to board our flight tonight without any further complications.

My reservation for flight AY4057 from DFW to CDG departing on 12/5/[redacted] at 8:40pm is affected by the public transportation strike in France. This strike makes it impossible for me to reach my final destination outside Clermont-Ferrand. I need to change my flight to 12/11/[redacted] to meet my mentally ill daughter in Paris and escort her back to America for Christmas. I'm seeking information on the possibility and cost of changing the flight. I appreciate any help or advice you can provide in this unexpected and unfortunate situation. Thank you.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am looking to reschedule my flights from Manchester (UK) to Bangkok via Helsinki from Sun, Feb 9th, to returning on March 8th. My Details: Christopher Siddle Booking Ref: SLWJHF Ticket No: [redacted][redacted] Given that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the current Coronavirus outbreak a Global Health Emergency, I believe it is reasonable to request this change. With many cases in Thailand and the significant number of infections and deaths globally, I feel it is unsafe to travel at this time. The risk of contracting the virus is a concern, especially with the uncertainty surrounding its containment, treatment, and transmission. I am hoping to reschedule my trip to March or April, by which time I believe there may be more information and possibly even a cure for this virus. Traveling now seems unnecessary and potentially hazardous. I feel it is much safer to stay in the UK until the situation improves. Given the seriousness of the situation, I kindly request to change my flight dates. Please contact me via email at [redacted] or by phone at [redacted]2. Best Regards, Christopher Siddle

Dear Finnair Customer Service, I am reaching out regarding the cancellation of our Finnair flights from Bangkok to Manchester (AY142 & AY1365) on 14 May [redacted], which occurred over 3 months ago. My partner, Wannaporn T., and I had requested a refund through our agent Dial-A-Flight. Despite multiple follow-ups, we have not received the refunds, and our agent mentioned a 6-month turnaround time due to the current situation. As the stress of this situation is affecting my health as a diabetic on insulin, I am contacting you directly for assistance in expediting the refund process. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to your response at your earliest convenience. Best Regards, Derek T. & Wannaporn T.

Due to the current COVID-19 policy requiring a fit-to-fly certificate, I am facing an issue with delays from the company providing my results. Even after paying an additional [redacted] pounds for expedited service, the company will not be able to deliver on time. This delay will cause me to miss my flight as I won't have the necessary certificate at check-in. I have also incurred costs for a quarantine hotel in Hong Kong, making this situation a significant financial loss. Unfortunately, my flight ticket is non-refundable. As a student in my final year, most of my funds have gone towards the test and hotel expenses. I am worried about managing the cost of rebooking a flight and staying in the UK for additional days. I am hoping Finnair can assist by arranging a free or discounted alternative flight or offering a refund. The flight number in question is Finnair [redacted] departing from Manchester Airport at 10:15 am with a layover in Helsinki. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had a planned flight from NY to Latvia with Finnair flight [redacted]/[redacted] on June 5, [redacted]. When I arrived at the airport, I was denied boarding because of restrictions for Americans traveling to Latvia. Despite explaining my specific medical reasons and having proof from the covidpass.lv site, the airport staff were unaware of these permissions and did not allow me to board. This caused significant stress, and by the time they acknowledged the necessary documents, I had already missed my flight. They refused to accommodate me on a different flight and insisted I purchase a new ticket. As a person with disabilities and limited finances, this was distressing. I am reaching out to Finnair to rectify the situation and assist me in changing my ticket for a different day. The phone number provided did not work, so I hope to receive prompt assistance. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Raisat Beilina.

My name is Shirleen Monroe, and I'm reaching out about my cancelled AY4190 flight on Oct 05, [redacted]. My husband and I planned this trip months ago, and it's disheartening that it's now cancelled. I secured the tickets at a great price, but with the current situation, I feel overlooked as a customer. Given the circumstances, I'd like to be rebooked on Finnair Flight AY4231 departing from DFW, closer to home where we have family. Returning on Flight AY4230 with our original baggage allowances. We'd consider AA or Iberia if the same direct flights are available, but Finnair is preferred. I'm eager for a prompt response as I have a lot riding on this trip and can't wait the suggested 2 weeks by Kayak. Thank you for your attention, looking forward to a swift resolution. Best, Shirleen Monroe

Hello, I have a return ticket from Tallinn to Paris scheduled for the 15th of November at 6 am, and returning to Tallinn on the 19th of November at 10:50 am through Helsinki. Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I had to arrive in France earlier and am currently in Chambéry. I would like to forego my initial flight from Tallinn to Paris (15/11/[redacted]) but still intend to use my return ticket from Paris to Tallinn (19/11/[redacted]). I am not looking for any refunds; I simply aim to skip the Tallinn-Paris leg to avoid unnecessary travel back to Estonia. My reservation number is YQTTSG, and my airline reservation code is L9I9TI. Best regards, Ena M.

Dear all, I am a French resident currently based in Fiji. I made a reservation with FinnAir on November 25th for a flight from Nadi to Paris on December 12th with a connecting flight in the USA, and a return flight from Paris to Nadi on December 28th with a layover in Japan. The recent news about the Omicron variant potentially impacting European flights, along with Japan's decision to close its borders to countries affected by the new variant, has raised concerns for my trip. As the variant is now confirmed in France, I fear the risks associated with my travel plans. I had intended to visit my elderly grandfather and meet my sister's newborn baby. Given the circumstances, I am worried about inadvertently exposing them to the variant and the possibility of being stranded either during transit or in France, especially as I need to be back for work commitments in January. I kindly request either a refund for my flight or the option to reschedule it for June. Sincerely,

Dear Support, I require urgent assistance. I need to adjust my flight destination from Helsinki to Bangkok to Helsinki to Phuket. I mistakenly need to arrive directly in Phuket. I am unable to make this change online. I have attempted to contact Customer Support at 0[redacted], but I have been on hold for over 40 minutes without a response. Could someone please call me as soon as possible to assist with changing my flight? Thank you. Niina

Two days ago, following chaos in Helsinki and Stockholm, I returned home to Gdansk, Poland, where my journey began. Unfortunately, my luggage remained in Helsinki. Despite reporting it at each transit airport, I received no information on its whereabouts until the Gdansk Luggage Lost department confirmed its location - still in Helsinki and scheduled for Singapore. I need it in Gdansk, not Singapore, as my plans have changed. After multiple rebookings, I finally returned home last night. I've been trying to reach Helsinki and Gdansk Lost Luggage department all day with no success. My claim number is GDNLH16704. The original flight details are AY1174 on 10DEC from GDN to HEL, AY131 on 10DEC from HEL to SIN, and QF036 on 11DEC from SIN to MEL. I request that my luggage be sent back from Helsinki to Gdansk, Poland, not Singapore.

I recently flew back from Phuket on flight AY [redacted] in seats 2D & 2H. I've taken this trip multiple times and have already booked my next flight for February 21st. On this flight, I paid €19.95 for the internet service, which is supposed to be free for one hour per seat in business class. Unfortunately, the internet connection only worked for about 45 minutes to 1 hour and then stopped completely while flying over China, Mongolia, and Russia. The signal only came back right before landing. I reported the issue to the stewardess, who mentioned that this was a common problem on this route and they always note it in their reports. Since I essentially paid for a service that wasn't fully provided, I would appreciate it if you could refund my credit. Thank you.

I am traveling from London Heathrow to Helsinki on Saturday, January 15th and then from Helsinki to Shanghai Pudong on Sunday, January 16th. I've been attempting to reach Finnair to confirm if my ticket covers both flights since the second leg is a codeshare with Juneyao Airlines. Additionally, I am interested in reserving a transit hotel at Helsinki Airport as I will have a 24-hour layover before my journey to Shanghai. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get through to Finnair's customer service. Thank you. Steve P.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am seeking assistance with my travel arrangements. I purchased a ticket from Finland to Thailand with a 4-hour layover in Stockholm. Subsequently, I have a flight booked from Thailand to Vietnam. As Vietnam's borders are not currently open but expected to open after January 1st, I am aware that Thailand has certain entry requirements such as the Thaipass. Can I modify my economy ticket to change my destination based on these circumstances? Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Best regards, Tam K.
