Retrieve my account with my cell phone or email. ... Facebook forced me to add a two-factor authentication app, which I did not want to add to my account *because of issues like I am having now * I have screenshots of Facebook forcing me to add this two-factor authentication app*. I recently lost my phone and got a replacement device, same make and model. I have access to my email account and the same phone number. Both are entered on my Facebook account* and is more than sufficient of a security feature to retrieve my account. However, Facebook is refusing to disable the two-factor authentication to allow me to retrieve my account. They asked for a photo of myself holding a sign with a numerical code, which I sent to them. They then replied that wasn't sufficient even though that was their preference. Now they asked me for a photo of myself, which I sent also. Apparently that is not sufficient. They are apparently demanding I send a copy of my ID or photo copies of bill's, etc. This is absurd. It is invasive and a complete violation of privacy. They knew this when they forced me to add this two-factor authentication app, and is yet another way for them to demand personal information they should not have. These two-factor authentication apps are not reliable, and if someone loses their password or pass keys, there is no way to retrieve them. Facebook has my cell phone and secure email listed on my account. **I want the issue resolved without violating my privacy further. I've sent in several requested materials and they continue to ask for more. This is unacceptable. I need the two-factor authentication disabled and my cell phone or email used to retrieve my account. Please resolve this issue. Thank you.
They forced me to add a two-factor authentication app and caused this issue from the beginning. Now Facebook is using invasive tactics to further obtain personal information they should not have.
Disable the two-factor authentication and allow me to retrieve my account with my email and*or cell phone that is listed on my account.
I follow the T&Cs of this platform and all reports have been overturned by Facebook themselves. Due to malicious reporting. My account is in good standing.
I've tried to contact Facebook themselves. Next will be Senator Elizabeth Warren and other organizations to report this invasive process.
