So there was an iPhone X for sale for $*** on the Facebook marketplace. They said it was unlocked, and it’s a **g. When we met up with them, we checked to see if anything was wrong with it and everything ended up being good.. so we go back home and I start setting everything up and the last step is to put the sim card in. So I put my SIM card in but it says that the “sim is not supported”. I go to cricket because that’s who my carrier is and I go to see if something is wrong with my SIM card. They tell me it’s locked and the carrier is sprint. So I drive ** minutes to the sprint store to talk to them and they also tell me that it’s locked and that the person still has a lease on it and hasn’t paid that off yet. So we message the person we bought it from and explain what’s happening... but apparently they are a buyer and a seller and so they bought the iPhone X from somebody else... they give us their info and we message the lady who owns the phone and we explain our situation. she had told us, “that’s not my responsibility anymore after I sold it” and we explain that it is her responsibility because it’s her lease and she needs to pay it off in order for the phone to work. She responds “the guy that I sold the phone to, I told him that he had to jailbreak the phone and he agreed to do that. So it’s not my fault that he didn’t tell you that.” So we text the guy that we bought it from and he said that she never said anything to him like that and that he had no idea. She apparently just told him it was unlocked... so we don’t know what to do now because the owner of the phone still has a lease on the phone I bought and she won’t pay it off. She lied about it being unlocked and now I just wasted $***. The owner of the phone, and the person I bought it from won’t respond to us anymore and it’s been *-* weeks now. We already reported them, but is there a way I could write a claim and get my money back? I had already asked the person I bought it from if we could get a refund and but they said that they didn’t have a job and so they wouldn’t be able to pay us back. My wife also tried messaging both of them on messenger, as well as text message but they just won’t respond to us both. Please help us!!
