I was trying to find out how much an advert would cost and whether it was worth placing an appropriate post and "boosting" it. ... I've just fallen into the trap of investigating how to "boost a post", and in the process of finding the details of where, to whom and for long, etc., I was informed that a post (not chosen by me, just the last one I put up which showed in the invitation to "boost post") was already being boosted and that my credit card was about to be debited £** (I think - I don't dare go back to the information page in case they make it an excuse to take money again!) Of course, it is quite impossible to contact FB to cancel this. Can you advise? Ive phoned to my credit card company to ask them to block it, and Paypal also, but have just found they've already they've already "approved" my non-existant "ad" - and am sure they've had their fingers in my account by now!) What do I do? I've already posted - on Facebook! - asking for advice, but nothing I try stops this damned ad! Thank you.
That looking for details does *not* equate to posting an advert. I choose for myself whether I advertise and post a worthwhile entry before I spend money on it.
I have sorted it myself, despite the opaque nature of FB.
I have spent £** in the past in FB ads. What I have learned from a number of people today is how to get into my account spending in great detail, and I have discovered the very reassuring fact that the CC they were trying to milk expired a few months ago!
In trying everything, I have discovered just how literally impossible it is to contact FB, and I shall take great care never to expose my new CC to them!**"We are waiting for you to fix the problem and share the solution with the rest of us customers." How do I share? By writing here? If so, the solution was the good fortune that they were trying to debit an expired card!!
I have an issue with Facebook too
