I listed a set of waterless cookware on Etsy a year ago. I then got very busy, did not follow it up and assumed it had expired after * months (as it says on their website.) . As far as I knew, my account was inactive. Last month I got an email that it had sold. Because of the pandemic, I am on lockdown. It was a mad rush to get shipping materials, and to get it out to the buyer but I did, and I wrote to Etsy several times requesting support because they had evidently estimated the weight and price of shipping to be much lower than it actually would be. So I could not print out or use their label for which they had charged me $**.**. Also, they charged me $***. for the advertising they used, but they had never notified my of the program or asked me if I wanted to use it and I was charged the absolute maximum for the advertising - the same as if the set had cost twice as much. So I now have $***.** that I believe should be refunded but I cannot reach anyone to discuss it. I wrote requesting support and got a msg back saying they would get to me but it would take awhile, but I didn't hear from them on my email (which is where i expected it since they had notified me about the sale on my email.) So tonite (* month later) I found a reply in my etsy msgs from two weeks ago saying that that charge could have been the shipping label transaction fee or something (which doesn't make any sense because I never printed out or used their label. I wound up shipping the set on my own UPS account.) I can't find any way to write to them again and the link on their message to me to a list of questions that don't apply. Every time i go to support it sends me around in a circle, gives me a lot of choices that have nothing to do with my issues, and doesn't give me a way of writing to them. I have a lot of other things I'd like to try selling on Etsy but it is now * month since I started trying to straighten this out and I'm no closer than I was. Is there a consumer agency I should contact? I'm feeling more and more like they are purposely making it impossible to get this worked out, are just keeping my money and are not interested in doing anything to make good on this. What they took out is in addition to their fees for the sale and the taxes. So it seems there is really something wrong in the amount they sent me.
GetHuman3815513 did not yet indicate what Etsy should do to make this right.
I've been a customer for years. Also, I sold several things but that was several years ago - so long that they don't seem to have them in the computer any longer. But now I would really like to have a shop on Etsy because I have a lot of beautiful, vintage items (furniture and smalls) that I want to sell, but this sale has been so difficult and time consuming (actually time wasting) that I have a lot of doubts about whether Etsy is the right site for me. I'm not ** and trying to problem solve with a site that will not give me any real support is more than I can deal with, especially when they keep telling me they've got my support requests and are going to get back to me and then, * weeks later, I get an email with no real communication or support. Etsy seems, over the last couple of years, to have changed and become much more complicated (as far as their technology goes) and it seems like maybe its for sellers who are a lot more computer savvy than me.
