In the event of a sewage pump failure leading to a sewage spill outside the apartment, there are concerns regarding the landlord's responsibility in cleaning up the spill to meet EPA regulations. The spill, which fills up a ditch with [redacted] gallons of sewage only 12 feet from the apartment, flows onto [redacted] square yards of the property and then into the street and city drain until power is restored. It is important to know if landlords in Florida are mandated by the state or EPA to address such spills promptly and appropriately, including clearing up the sewage pooled in the ditch close to the apartment. Additionally, it is mentioned that the area should be cordoned off to prevent children from school crossing it. This inquiry seeks information on specific guidelines provided by the EPA for landlords dealing with sewage spills like this. Charles Ogle, a resident in Florida, who is a Vietnam Vet, is not currently reporting a spill but is requesting information on regulations to share with the landlord.

I am reaching out to address a pressing issue at Rocky Creek Village. The living conditions we endure due to black mold contamination are unacceptable. Management's failure to prioritize our safety has resulted in dire consequences. Despite the discovery of mold in my unit, the remediation efforts were insufficient. The high cancer rates among residents underscore the severity of the situation. Fear of eviction silences many, but I refuse to pay December's rent in protest of the blatant disregard for our well-being. By paying rent, I would be endorsing the inadequate mold removal. Previous attempts to seek help from Hillsborough County agencies and legal entities have been futile. Fellow residents support my decision to stand up against these negligent landlords. I appeal to you for guidance on how to ensure a just resolution. My medical providers have also urged me to seek assistance. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Around a year ago, cows on Shirley Morgan's land started to become very thin. In February [redacted], concerns were raised to Henry County animal control about the emaciated cows. Follow-up reports in June [redacted] and January [redacted] mentioned the deteriorating condition of the livestock. Recently, on Sunday, March 3, [redacted], while inspecting my property, I came across two deceased cows in the spring water on Shirley Morgan's land. The cows had dug a hole for drinking, causing soil erosion into the pond on my property. I am worried about potential contamination from the deceased cows affecting my water and fish. I urgently request Shirley Morgan to address this issue by cleaning the spring and preventing cows from accessing it. I also seek testing for my water to ensure its safety and assess any potential harm to my fish.

I have a concern regarding the possible dangers associated with Wind Turbines to humans and wildlife as our county commissioners are discussing whether to permit them. Research has shown that wind turbines can impact people's health due to the sound frequency they produce, harm wildlife populations, and cause issues for farmers during construction. Is there a legal avenue to prevent their installation in an area rich in wildlife and livestock farming, like ours? We aim to protect the environment without the disturbances posed by wind turbines. Preserving the habitat for local wildlife, such as Deer and Flocks of Wild Turkeys, is important to us. Thank you. Best regards, L. V. S. McPherson, KS

For the past two years, we have been dealing with foul odors in our residential community, impacting our air quality. These odors persist even with windows and doors closed, lasting up to 3-4 days a week. Despite reaching out to the local EPA represented by Patrick, who claims no detection of odors, we are very concerned about the potential health risks due to the intensity of the smell. Another EPA manager indicated limited manpower for the area, leaving us feeling neglected. A message left for a call back from the office was unreturned, indicating a lack of concern. It is disheartening not to feel heard. A return call from someone in management with empathy and understanding of our situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. A.W.

In Geauga County, in Chardon Township, the previous EPA director from the previous administration is insisting that [redacted] households connect to a treatment plant and town septic due to a contamination issue with septic systems. The situation arose when the electric company damaged pipes, revealing ecoli in a drainage ditch. Subsequently, the EPA got involved, resulting in the condemnation of the neighborhood. As residents with low income, this is a burden we cannot bear. We have lived with this issue for five years without a resolution. Unfortunately, there seems to be no accountability for the past director's actions, which leads me to believe corruption is at play. Is there a way to challenge or cancel this decision? I seek justice in handling this distressing situation and suspect corruption within the township and the previous EPA management. Thank you, B.

The construction company NEXTGEN working on the property north of mine is dumping excess concrete into the wash that runs along our properties. The address of the building is [redacted] N 57th Street, Cave Creek, AZ [redacted]. The wash is located on the south side of their property. When I raised the concern about this practice being illegal, I was rudely told to leave their property. I am worried about the environmental impact as I have previously followed proper procedures to dispose of concrete waste due to its harmful nature. Could you please investigate this matter? It’s important that a large company like them follows the regulations as they construct multiple homes. My contact information is Barbara Warren at [redacted] if you require additional details. I have also taken pictures of the wash with concrete in it.

Residents noticed a strong smell of coolant, causing discomfort to some, especially those with heightened sensitivity who experienced stinging sensations on their fingers and toes. Residents in Port St. Lucie, Florida are dealing with a situation where burned mulch is causing smoke to enter homes through dryer vents and toilet stacks. The Glades Mulch Fire, sparked by a lightning strike last Thursday, has been contained but officials warn that the smoke may linger for weeks. The fire, covering 28 acres, is [redacted]% contained, but the dry conditions have made the piles of mulch highly flammable. The Florida Forest Service supervisor mentioned that the fuel beneath the ash is still burning hot, causing the smoke to persist. This has become a persistent issue for the community, with residents reporting ongoing smoke infiltration. The authorities are working to address the situation, but the impact on residents is significant. For more details, you can visit the full article linked below.
