I subscribed to a premium service a year ago which is set to renew in April. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my subscription and delete my account. Recently, I noticed that someone had hacked into my account multiple times, despite changing my password. The person has been altering my profile information, even after repeated attempts to secure my account details. I reached out to customer support via email but have not received a response, which is disappointing considering the lack of live chat or phone support options. As a paying member, I expected more efficient assistance. I decided to delete my account and cancel my subscription to prevent further intrusion. However, it seems like my account is still accessible on the app. I would like to retain my account until the end of my subscription period in April, but the ongoing unauthorized access by the hacker is a serious concern.

I am encountering an issue when trying to access Duolingo Plus on my iPad. Upon tapping the app, the green Duolingo screen briefly appears and then disappears, rendering me unable to use it on my preferred device. Interestingly, the app functions properly on my iPhone, although I find the screen too small for optimal learning. I have utilized Duolingo on my iPad for the past three years, with a current year-long subscription to Duolingo Plus. My iPad is up to date with all system updates, and no other apps seem to be experiencing similar problems. I kindly seek guidance on how to resolve this connectivity issue specifically on my iPad for seamless Duolingo Plus use. Thank you.

Hello, I enjoy using Duolingo and appreciate the Free Duolingo Conversations hosted by wonderful people. However, it is frustrating when what is labeled as free ends up leading to a Paypal donation request. Other hosts typically charge a reasonable fee upfront or discuss paid courses, which is transparent and fair. I believe that honesty and clarity about any potential costs are crucial. As someone on a fixed income, I find it off-putting when hosts solicit donations at the end of a class instead of just charging a nominal fee from the start like others do. This approach would allow me to make an informed decision without feeling pressured. Simply put, free should truly mean free. Additionally, I do not have nor prefer using PayPal. Best regards, Gary

I have a Duo Plus account on my phone. I am in the Diamond League and on the third level practicing cooking. Yesterday, I got a new phone, and although my Duo app was transferred, my level did not update. The level on my computer hasn't changed to match my phone. I'm not sure how to sync my phone level with my computer and would like them to be the same since I can't use accents on my phone.

The spamming of Duome's promotion is overwhelming, and despite attempts to point it out, only minimal action has been taken, leading to frustration among users. Criticism of this spamming has even resulted in backlash from supporters who seem to benefit from increased traffic to Duome. I urge the moderators to take decisive action in removing these spam posts to ensure a more balanced and informative forum for all users. Furthermore, I have noticed a decrease in visibility and suspected censorship of my posts after speaking out against the Duome promotion. It seems my comments are only visible to me, indicating a possible restriction placed on my account. I kindly ask for a review of my status to confirm if any actions have been taken against me without valid reason. Sadly, the moderators' lack of transparency and selective enforcement of rules have created a challenging environment for users, reinforcing the need for improved moderation practices or the closure of the forums.

I've been enjoying learning Arabic but struggle to match up phrases due to difficulty seeing the characters on both my monitors and iPhone. Even with screen zoom, it's hard to discern the accents and letters. Including a screenshot didn't work, so I hope this issue can be resolved as it's impeding my learning process and ability to differentiate between characters as I progress in learning the alphabet. Hello, I have taken the English test eight times already, and for the past six times, I have been told that my test could not be certified because it seems like I am reading responses that I am not. This situation is very frustrating for me as I urgently need these scores for my admission which will be cancelled if I don't submit them tomorrow. Every time I appeal, I receive the same response stating that it appears I was reading responses during the speaking section. This is baffling to me. Can you please assist me in obtaining my scores or provide guidance on where I might be going wrong? Achieving a passing score is incredibly important to me. If possible, I would appreciate any tips on how to successfully clear the exam. I have already lost money twice due to this issue and will have to pay for the test a third time. Thank you.

Two days ago, I attempted to log in on my iPad, but every time I clicked on Duo, it took a while before the Plus symbol appeared. However, Duo never showed up; instead, it just returned to the bottom line on my iPad without doing anything else. Although I managed to bring up my previous activities on Duo, the screen has become frozen. While all other apps are functioning normally, I am unable to resolve this issue. I initially believed that accessing my account with Duo Plus would be straightforward, but that does not seem to be the case. Regrettably, I have two accounts – one without Plus and one with Plus. The reference for my longest-running account is Patricia P19801L, which I joined in August [redacted]. My free account is named TrishPittaway. Although I do not have these details on hand, I have been compelled to attempt to retrieve them. I can provide the necessary details, but I have not used this account since opening my Plus account.

After resetting my password, the username changed to lmakoCES, which is unfamiliar to me. Though lmakoCES seems unused, a test with it was successful. Hello Duolingo, I am thoroughly enjoying your program and have learned many languages thanks to your help. The streak feature is the biggest motivation for me to use Duolingo daily. I had a streak of nearly [redacted] days until recently. Last week, I attended a Vipasana silent meditation retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand. During this time of silence and solitude, I was unable to maintain my streak as planned due to unforeseen circumstances. I had made arrangements with my sister to keep the streak going, but unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Dear Sir or Madam, I have been a satisfied user of Duolingo Plus and found it to be extremely beneficial in my daily routine. Recently, when I tried to access the app, it prompted me to update in order to unlock new features. Upon attempting the update, I was informed that I needed to update my phone's entire iOS for compatibility, which I am not willing to do at this time due to the potential risk of data loss. I am disappointed that Duolingo is forcing me to take this step just to continue using the app. Is there a way to bypass this requirement and continue using the current version without risking my data? If not, I may need to cancel my subscription and switch to Babbel, despite the benefits I have experienced with Duolingo. I sincerely hope there is a solution to this issue. Thank you for your help. Last week, I dedicated a significant amount of time to studying on Duolingo. I received an email on Saturday summarizing my learning time for the week. In addition to my studies, I listened to a couple of podcasts, took notes on unfamiliar words, and searched for their translations. Despite reaching an XP of [redacted] and almost securing a spot in the top three, I was not added to the leaderboard after completing an extra lesson as suggested. By Monday morning, I was disheartened to find myself at the very bottom of the demotion zone on Duolingo. Viewing a graph of my declining progress, which seemed inaccurate, further demotivated me. I currently have a total of [redacted]. Due to this experience, I am less inclined to spend time on Duolingo this week. Instead, I plan to focus on studying verb conjugations and reading Spanish news stories. I will refrain from purchasing any additional time boosts until this matter is addressed. Furthermore, I have encountered issues with selecting answers that Duolingo appears to be aware of. This happened twice during a checkpoint exercise, prompting me to log out. I await your response. I decided to try Duolingo Plus for a two-week trial while I was traveling abroad with limited internet access. Unfortunately, just as the trial period was ending, I experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of a close friend and colleague. I forgot to cancel the subscription on time due to this tragic event, and now I am being charged for a full year. I do enjoy using Duolingo, but I find that I actually prefer the challenges and fun of the free version as it helps me stay focused on my language learning journey.

Hello everyone. I am a big fan of the Duolingo app. However, I have noticed that the typing exercises can be quite strict at times, particularly when it comes to grammar or the use of articles like "a" or "an." It's frustrating to lose hearts just because I typed "hundred people" instead of "A hundred people." In my case, I am learning Japanese, so why am I getting marked wrong for not including "A"? I am focusing on Japanese, so why do I have to be corrected for English grammar? This can be quite bothersome. The course would cover basic phrases, greetings, shopping, money, transportation, dining, directions, accommodations, health, and emergencies. I propose breaking it down into listening and conversation exercises, tracking scores to measure competency. I am willing to pay $50 for an annual subscription, with a $10 renewal option. I've invested time in learning Spanish through Duolingo but realize the limitations without live practice or immersion. I believe a concise course like this could be beneficial for travelers. I envision an interactive course similar to the website that tested my Spanish number skills. While technology like iOS translation apps exists, nothing beats the satisfaction of conversing in a foreign language. Providing such courses could be a lucrative venture while aiding language learners.

I've been experiencing issues with the points not being credited correctly after completing lessons on Duolingo. It's frustrating to see my hard-earned points not being added to my ranking. Additionally, there are instances where the screen freezes in the middle or end of a lesson, preventing me from receiving the points I earned. I waited for 30 minutes hoping the system would catch up, but the points were never awarded. These problems are becoming more common, and I don't want to give up on using Duolingo. I am disappointed with the pressure to pay for Duolingo's services. The first time I was forced to pay $65 for Duolingo prime due to a threat of losing my progress, which I later found out was unnecessary. Recently, I was about to rank high but was asked to wait or pay for more gems to continue, leading to me losing my spot. This feels unfair, and I request a refund of $65 for the misleading payment request. Additionally, I urge Duolingo to stop manipulating users to purchase more gems.

I have encountered an issue with Duolingo's new CONVERSATION tool in the STORIES section. When I try to use it, it defaults to the old LISTEN method instead of allowing me to speak. I have verified that my computer's microphone works as I have used it on Facebook before. Despite checking my settings in Firefox, Windows 10, and even using Cortana, Duolingo does not seem to recognize my microphone or provide a way to enable it. I have extensively searched through Duolingo settings but have not found an option to activate the microphone similar to how it works in Facebook Messenger. If this is a glitch with Duolingo's new software, I would appreciate being informed that they are working on it. Additionally, I have found the help search function in Duolingo to be unhelpful as it does not direct me to relevant FAQs. Thank you for any assistance you can provide with this frustrating issue.
