I waited on hold tonight for just over *hr and **min and finally gave up on you guys...what I’m trying to do is safely migrate * drives from a Drobo S that I bought in **** (that will no longer power on), to an untouched Drobo *D that I purchased ** months ago. Inside the packaging of the *D it tells me that that any drives I put into the Drobo *D will be erased, however online I’ve read that so long as I plug in the *D, update it to the latest firmware WITHOUT drives in it, and then unmount and turn it off, that I can then replace the drives from my Drobo S (in the same configuration) into my new*unplugged Drobo *D and then plug it back in, power it back up and all of my data will be there. But without explicit confirmation from someone at your company, I can’t move forward based on what I’ve read online alone, based on the fact that the instructions that came with the *D say that any drives I insert will be deleated. This is over a decade worth of work for me, I’m not about to lose any of it now, that’s why I invested in you guys in the first place. Please call me back to help me thru this migration step, I’ve invested too much in your company (both in terms of money as well as unsolicited marketing support over the years) for you to fail me now. Please help me by guiding me thru this process and reinvigorating my faith within your brand. I work in the digital*tech industry via LinkedIn, and trust me when I say my reach is far and wide. It’s in everyon’s best interest here for you guys to help me move confidently thru this migration. I look forward to your call.
