The issue in GetHuman-l_yohey's own words
An order was placed, then we received a phone call that one of the items ordered was not available. We gave a second choice but immediately thought better of it and wanted to cancel. We called back right away and left a message to cancel, then sent a text reiterating but got no response. Although told we would get a call back even before attempting to cancel, we heard nothing. At that point we weren’t sure if an order was in the works or not, having received no confirmation text. After a time I called the restaurant directly simply to find out if an order had been placed. It had and the dasher was there waiting. It was at that point that we received our first text regarding the order. We accepted the order since we’d already been charged but the experience was tainted. We had loved using this service up until now but plan to use other services in the future.
GetHuman-l_yohey did not yet indicate what DoorDash should do to make this right.
