I was trying to reach someone before midnight on Saturday - either by phone or chat - to confirm whether the $* discount on $** * orders ALSO applied to online shoppers (or only to store shoppers). ... Are you there to help me, a customer of Dollar General? I need help now* Monday would be too late! How come you don't have someone available to answer chats or phone questions on weekends? Don't people order merchandise on Saturdays and Sundays? I do* however, when there's no one to answer a simple question I have before placing my orders, I'm afraid to tell you that I end up going elsewhere to shop. We would love to order online for goods to be shipped to us, but the $* off $** order on Saturdays is not clear whether it applies to store shoppers only or it also applies to online orders for shipment to their homes.... Since it's past ** midnight and Sunday's here already, the $* discount would not apply...? Please advise, and PLEASE REMEMBER to clarify whether the $* discounts on Saturdays on $*** purchases do apply to online shoppers, too. Yes, a few weeks ago when we placed an order for well over $**, we did get a $* discount - and this defrays the shipping fee somewhat, and encourages us to shop every Saturday. Please respond, and let's know if you can send us a coupon (promo or otherwise) for us to place an order on today, tomorrow or Monday, rather than waiting till next Saturday. Please do consider incentives for your customers, including us, by "free shipping over, say, $**...." Also, what about $* for over $**-**? As you know, other businesses (Walmart, Amazon, etc.) do have free shipping incentives, etc. and, unfortunately, they go on to outcompete Dollar General in online shopping.
This was especially frustrating because while other businesses that compete with DG have someone available (or at least make wordings much clearer), the $* off $** * order is not really very clear whether it applies to online shoppers....
DG would make it right by offering me digital promo coupons for my next order with a view to my time and interest in expressing my concerns, which also possibly help DG's business in general....
We shop regularly, and we never complain - except making constructive suggestions when need be.
Well, in the past it happened once or twice when we weren't clear the $* off $** purchases also applied to online shoppers - or applied only to store shoppers. Consequently, we ended up shopping elsewhere offering free shipping....
