I am disabled and therefore slow in business affairs, etal. Due to lack of funds my only Grandson, Jayden R Bennett recently brought April **** unauthorized purchases to my attention.** Jayden called Direct Express many times, with great numbers of dropped or hang-up calls, and transfers to state departments and other companies not even within the Direct Express Company. Jayden finally was able to speak with Emily then a supervisor Bertha on April *, **** who informed Jayden that investigation forms were dispatched to our residence. We received a new card at the end of April ****. However, the forms needed to report fraudulent transactions did not arrive within the * to * days as informed. I feel terrible, in that I am trying to teach my grandson right from wrong for a lifetime. And Direct Express did EVERYTHING WRONG.**As soon as the investigation form and statement arrived we phoned repeatedly attempting to report additional purchases*transactions appearing on the April **** statement with several additional unauthorized purchases appearing in March **, **** on said statement. **The biggest complaint to date finds that attempts to report this growing issue severely retarded by inept, uncaring customer service telephone operators at Direct Express. The latter remains an ongoing problem. A worse complaint was in allowing this to continue throughout the span of over an entire year. I would assume that Direct Express looks into account activity, changed passwords, amounts, timing, etc.**In the meantime, Jayden R. Bennett figured out how to look into activity online (customer service, if available would only provide ** transactions via telephone). To our horror, we saw that this fraudulent activity was ongoing and began in May ****. Upon reflection, we realized that the only person that could have stolen, used, purchased, withdrew via ATM was a ** year-old homeless kid, then ** years old named Jayvohnn Carrion assumed to be attending Kennewick High School.***Note: at this time we had no idea as to the extent of the unauthorized purchases that began May *, **** ending in May ****. Please see the first letter*personal statement. Furthermore, there is only one authorized purchase and that was for NBA*K**. The aforementioned is the only transaction not within this dispute.**The following transactions are being disputed by me and the only authorized person who has my express permission to discuss my Direct Express Account with Fraud Department and other affiliated with Direct Express, including SARC and Kennewick Police Department is my Grandson Jayden Bennett:************** R. Bennett last spoke to a Direct Express representative, he was told that no information was available for May ****. As shown above May transactions total approximately $**.** occurring within the last week, thus, left powerless to stop further abuse of this nature. We have tried to change our passwords and identifying questions, however, nothing is keeping the aforementioned thief from accessing our personal information. **In fact, we just tried to (May **, **** *:**a) change the password on our current Direct Express Card but no email was received providing the new password. Therefore, I cannot even access my own card account information.** Had Direct Express sent statements in the postal mail this atrocity would have never occurred. Am I to understand that Direct Express will only show accountability for the last, enlighten me with the number of days Direct Express will recompense? Moreover, April **** thefts were addressed on April *, **** just one day after Jayden R Bennett found out how to get online and immediately repeatedly contacted Direct Express Customer Service line, all the while vulnerable to further attack. Thus the number of days should begin on the date we found out about APRIL ****, as we had no idea about the prior thefts noted above beginning May ****, especially without mailed statements to use as cross referencing. **Our first attempts to contact Direct Express Customer Service line are an embarrassment to Comerica Bank as undue hang-ups, disconnects, misunderstanding of our issue, transfers to businesses, companies that had no bearing, nor need of notification of my card number, social security number, address, date of birth, etal. We were forced to give personal identity information to companies that we had been transferred to by Direct Express Customer Service Operators that had nothing to do with Direct Express Company, a further miscarriage of justice leaving us exposed to additional fraudulent treatment either by those we were transferred to or to the thief himself. The afore-stated attempts were numerous, lengthy and highly stressful* I reiterate our attempts began April *, **** without obtaining a supervisor, or transaction number*code to prove that we even had a conversation with Direct Express Customer Service. *On April *th **** we finally were able to report the fraudulent transactions verbally. However, we received no statements or any investigative inquiries via U.S. Postal Service as we were told by Direct Express representative(s). We waited patiently. Sadly, Direct Express dropped the ball leaving us exposed to further financial loss and fear of that which has ensued.** I am of the U.S. Postal mailing service era* not your online consumer of the internet age. I am extremely upset and cannot believe how hard it has been just trying to contact Direct Express to rectify the enormous amount of erroneous charges placed upon my small income. Being disabled I have enough to deal with just to get through a day. Let alone looking for the junk Pay perks sent. The latter considered spam*junk as I had no idea Pay Perks was affiliated with Direct Express. No one informed me of this affiliation. **I wish this matter convened posthaste. The thefts against me are overwhelming and come with extreme financial, emotional, and physical hardship. The doctors say I will not survive one more aneurysm. Stress also causes mini-strokes. Clearly, the aforesaid undue stress is not necessary, nor should I have to deal with a company that cares only for profit not people. **Please direct further replies to my grandson, Jayden R Bennett. He is fully capable and assists me in all of my affairs for he sees firsthand the effects anxiety has on my physical and emotional well-being. To date Direct Express has persistently generated exorbitant monetary loss and disproportionate trepidation. Thus, desire to end this painful situation, as well as retrieve the sum total financial loss.** Furthermore, by reporting this ongoing disaster, I would see Javohnn Carrien prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to include restitution to Direct Express, for I believe that Direct Express owes me for these deliberate thefts due to the fact that statements were never sent to me. PayPerks was in my email box without verification from Direct Express as to their affiliation* just last week I realized both companies are in collaboration. Direct Express failed on all fronts to protect my monthly financial stipend, sadly Direct Express telephone operators rather than provide assistance to clientele chose to disconnect, hang-up, etc. Operators did not attempt to state information that would enable some kind of protection from this kind of vulnerability. Direct Express personnel must know that those on SSI are elderly, disabled or both, thus, always in danger from this kind of attack. Where is the support Direct Express should give to each client? **This criminal activity covering an entire year was not necessary. This should have never continued to get so far out of hand. I looked for statements via U.S. Postal Service monthly. Finally, my grandson decided to go online and check into the status of this account only to find funding from April **** stolen. Chaotic phone converse with Direct Express created more stress on me so as to suffer to seizures. Now I am told that Direct Express only pays back ***days. Is this what Comerica, Payperks and Direct Express devised to save money and to avoid deep investigation into crimes against those of us (your clientele) that are disabled, elderly or both?**Now is the time for answers, integrity, ethical behavior in the pursuit of justice. This kid also had his phone number on Direct Express online services and (so-called) support. Jayden took a picture of this and several other items that DIRECT EXPRESS SHOULD HAVE NOTICED, as my telephone number has remained the same and is the number that we inquire with Direct Express. He also placed this on my Internet Company’s Online support. Jayvohnn sent me a text from the same number (***-***-****)asking me how things were going with my TOYOTA, for he vandalized my only vehicle. All we did was to feel sorry for a homeless kid, let him eat, shower, sleep, and use Jayden’s computer. A wonderful thank you from all of those involved in this outrageous situation for we my grandson and I are getting beaten and trod on for all our efforts to do the right thing. Would that Direct Express, Payperks, Comerica, criminal justice do the right thing as well.**Please refer to the actual statements of which I presume are en-route via U.S. Postal Service (as they should have been since opening this card account of which I do not recall signing anything pertaining to Direct Express), for all of the statements from May **** (when we first met the perpetrator) through May ****.
